An Adult Cupcake & I've Been Tagged!!! Twice!!

Over 25 years ago I was given this wonderful cupcake recipe and have made it several times over the years. It has a wonderful "sensually" (as once described) gooey center and is best eaten warm with a tall glass of ice cold milk. It is similar to the cupcake that Starbucks sells, however Starbucks, step aside because I was making these before you originated!! ha ha. Let me know if you make them and how you like them. So glad that many of you enjoyed the Walnut Squares recipe! Tickled pink that you liked them!!

Black Bottom Cupcakes

Mix:
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp baking soda

Mix:
5 Tblsp Canola or Wesson Oil (don't use olive oil...Miss Cherry...wink and a smile!!)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup water
1 Tblsp. cidar vinegar

Stir the dry ingredients and then add the wet ingredients and mix well. Fill 18 cupcake wrappers 1/2 full. Top each with 1 Tblsp of the following filling:

Filling:
8 oz. cream cheese (soft)
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

I've been tagged by two sweet blogging friends, Priscilla at http://sweetremembrance1.blogspot.com/and Cherry at http://cherrysjubileehome.blogspot.com/ at for the middle name game. Here are the rules for those that choose to follow them: Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My first name is really Rebecca. I was named after my great, great grandmother Minnie Rebecca and my Aunt Minnie Rebecca. My Mom dropped the Minnie (thank you Mom cause, afterall, it would be ironic to call me "Minnie" at 5'11"!!!!). My middle name is Ann. So...
A = appreciative - I appreciate everything that God has blessed me with in life.

N = ninny - A simpleton - I don't have to have lavish things and don't buy designer labels to dress in. I am a blue jean, T shirt and Converse sneakers kind of gal.

N = nest - Not only do I love birds and anything bird related, I am also a nester.

Now I am tagging: Amy at http://foursistersinacottage.com/

Tina at http://stitchingintexas.blogspot.com/

Becky at http://justbeenme.blogspot.com/

Have fun!!!!!

I found your blog through BittersweetPunkin. I love it and those cupcakes. A classmate of mine made them way back in the 9th grade when we had to a "demonstrative" speech. I asked her for the recipe and I made them for years. Then I lost the recipe during one of moves I guess. So thank you for sharing the recipe. I'm all excited now!

Mind if I add you to my blog roll?
Thanks,
Julie

Those cupcakes sound delicious. I've had a black bottom cake before. I'll definitely let you know if I try this.

You are no ninny! You'll have to redo this and come up with another N word ;-)

Ok no ninny comes to mind...just down right excellent taste my dear! I know that doesn't start with an N but hey! Thanks for playing along. I WILL be trying the cupcakes soon. I even like the name of them. Here is ninny for you...what is salad oil? Do you mean olive oil? I have never heard of that for baking. xoxo, cherry

I am laughing so hard right now that Duhgall is grumbling at me cause he is asleep at my feet, as usual. LOL - no Cherry, not olive oil..canola oil. I was reading off the recipe..tis old as I said. hahahahahaha! Ninny Lallee? Yes, I am a ninny. Not a whimp - you know why - but a simple person. If I could go without wearing makeup (shun the thought) I would. Esther..if you want five at a time, eat your heart out girly! Love that! They are realllllly good and it has taken total self control for me not to eat the last two that are in a zip loc...the boys better hurry! xo, Becky

My brother in law makes them and they are TDF!! I could eat the entire batch and then some : ).
My husband, however, doesn't like coconut so I rarely make them : (
