Finds, Inspirations and Creations

Has this week gone as fast for you as it did for me? Wowzers! My momma always told me time goes faster as you get older - hold on to my hat is all I can say!

Did a little shopping this past weekend and found some cute things that just had to come home with me. I also picked up some new magazines and books that have some wonderful holiday ideas and decorating ideas. Christmas will be here soon - YIKES!!!!

Any guess why this cute old child's toy dresser made its way into my shopping cart?

Answer: Because of the cute decals!! I just love it!!
This great old blue tole tray jumped out in front of me and begged me to take her home. She is visiting the guest room for now.
For some time I have been wanting this book and finally caved in and bought this one AND the Christmas one. There are pages upon pages of sweet creations to make as well as some wonderful decorating ideas.

I just love the simplicity of this room..
..and the little jar of strawberries below.
The Hobby Room - a cute one I might add.

This book is just amazing. Each page is filled not only with sweet handmade treasures and patterns, but the photography is absolutely stunning. Sure to make your mouth water!

Look at these angel wings. Are they just not the cutest things you have ever seen? The pattern is included in the book.
This little room is filled with precious little details that any child would just love.
Let's see...how many of these can I make for my tree this year?

These little red fabrics are just so cute and fresh. I think they would be perfect for Valentine's day, too.
Now you must go out and get this Better Homes and Gardens Christmas ideas book. It is FULL of ideas and one of our blog friends, Miss Kijsa Housman, is featured on several pages! Way to go Kijsa!!!

How many of you love milk glass? I totally thought of you when I saw this arrangement.
Here is the silhouette that Kari and Kijsa had on their blog last Christmas.
I like the little hang tags on the stockings. It's the little details like this that add such charm and personalization.
This is an adorable centerpiece that Kijsa created. Her tablesetting is full of whimsy from the stockings to hold the silverware down to the jingle bells on the plate.
I love this look of tone on tone with layers of silver, white and sparkly bobbles.

I also ADORE this look with the beachy and campy style Christmas. The colors are so bright and cheerful and sure to put you in the Christmas spirit.

This is another Better Homes and Garden issue that can instantaneously put you in the mood to whip out your glue gun and sewing machine!

So vintagey...

...and cute!
But wait, there's more. Need some cookie recipes? Then you just HAVE to run out and get this fabulous magazine!!!! I kid you not, BHG has really out-done themselves this year on their magazines!

Is your mouth watering and tummy growling?
Great idea here for using a bread tin to give cookies in.
I got around to making a few things this week and whipped up this Halloween tote bag. The vintage inspired Halloween fabric is by Alexander Henry.

This is a little redwork pillow that I finished this morning. I embroidered the centerpiece and used Alex Anderson fabrics in adorable reds and whites. I will be putting it on ETSY soon.
Toodles for now! Off to sew!

((hugs))

Why is it that everyone else finds all the cute stuff? I love that little dresser. Even though I don't collect that sort of stuff, I would have to buy the dresser. And those magazines, I guess I'll have to head over to the local store to get my own. What great ideas. The best thing was last, that cute little redwork pillow. Adorable!

There are certainly not enough hours in the day to make all the beautiful things in those magazines! We should start having a sewing/quilting/craft day at least once a month.
