A Little White Cabinet

I fell in love with this little old cabinet and bought it three years ago. Once an old built in, it has great white chippy paint and the old wavy glass. It sits in our bathroom - that of which you will not get to see until we get it redone. It is in the early stages of an overhaul. Someday there will be pretty white beadboard, an antique piece of furniture with two sinks dropped in and a pretty tile floor.
Inside are some vintage linens and some favorite white and sea blue towels - of course, only for decoration and not for use.
Folded up is a wonderful antique quilt that is made up of old feedsack fabrics. Every time I look at it I see a fabric that I hadn't noticed before. It is in wonderful condition, too and am glad that I brought it home!!

I also cannot end this post without thanking each one of you who took the time to leave me a message on the last post about my precious little Scotty Dog, Doogs. As silly as it may seem, I read each one to him while he layed at my feet. For those of you who wanted me to give him hugs and kisses, just know I did and told him that they were from you. You all just amaze me with the warmth that you pass onto me via blogging. If I could reach through this screen and hug you I would!!!!! So, for the best that I can (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) and xxxxxxxxxx to all of you - across the miles, over the hills and across the oceans. I will keep you posted as to the outcome of the biopsy......still praying, and Lauren, like you, I do say prayers with my little guy. xo

I love your little white cabinet. It looks long and small and just the perfect size for MY bathroom. LOL! Seriously, it looks great and I will be awaiting seeing your finished new bathroom. I just adore that vintage quilt. I am always amazed that people find them when out on vintage rummages. I guess that is because I cannot imagine getting rid of the quilts I make other than sometimes giving them as gifts.

How much longer till you hear about the biopsy? I know it is so nerveracking. You and Doogs both just have some fun time together and try not to think about it too much. I keep you both in my thoughts!

Hugs ~
Heidi

I missed your last post too! Love the frames. So sorry to hear about Doogs, I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that everything turns out alright!

I love the white cabinet! It is perfect in its chippiness!

p.s. In order to mosaic the lower tiers of the tea cart, I place it on a table, so it is a little higher, then bend and contort until I get it done - I always need a hot bath after doing these. :-) It will be done in a few days and I will post a final pic...Thank you for asking!

A very lovely cabinet! It's even more beautiful with your vintage linens tucked so carefully away peeking through the wavy glass. I love chippy white paint. I have a chippy white trunk in our bedroom I found at a garage sale, and it's one of my very favorite things!

My thoughts are with you and your little furry one.

What a perfect little cabinet! The quilt inside it is absolutely cozy looking! I agree with Heidi and it seems as though sometimes these wonderful quilts are forgotten in and amongst the families that they came from. Praying for you and your precious Doogs!

I have alway wanted a white linen cabinet like that. It is just beautiful I am sure everytime you look at it you feel special. I want to make one out of my built in hallway but it will have to wait. I was going to post pictures and try to get some ideas from other bloggers.
I am so sorry about doogs, I too will say a prayer. I work at Albertson's and we sell an ice cream for dogs called Tasty Paws, maybe he would enjoy a special treat. If I lived near by I would bring him a box.
Take care of the both of you!

Hi, Becky! I buy the transfer paper at Office Max. I think most office supply places have it. I believe it was in the art supply area.

I have bought patterns from Vicki before. She has some really nice ones.

Thanks for stopping by to see me. Have a great Monday:)

You made my eyes well up~I'm hoping good news for Doogs.

Love your cabinet. When we bought our house, someone took out our built-in that was in the dining room! What were they thinking??

Have a wonderful Monday.

Prayers, yes- and don't forget the lullabies you'll want to sing over him at night! They soothe our furry babies as much as they soothe us!

Honey I say use your towels. I just read something where a woman bought a new nightgown and saved it for a special occasion. 8 years later she had never worn it yet and her husband decided that her funeral attire couldn't be any more special than that.

Point is - every day there is a special occasion to be found. And, I love the little cabinet!! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the bathroom.

Love,
Julie

Love your cabinet and love the linens and quilt.
We just did our bathroom adding a much needed second toilet...but only renovated for selling, not for myself!...keeping it very basic and plain.
