A POP of Green

My friends tell me I move things around a lot in my house.  I say no, they say YES you DO!

Well, they are half right.  Half right because I don’t do this as much as I use to.  So, half right.  Right friends?

The other day I moved the Bauer crock filled with green Hydrangeas – and to clarify, they are faux flowers.  It had been on a table in the entry hall.  I made up a fall arrangement, in a different crock, and set the Bauer crock down on the dryer – with great intentions of moving it elsewhere.  Of course, not sure where elsewhere would be.  I do that sort of thing.  Never a real “plan” for decorating.  I am a fly by the seat of my britches kind of a girl.

The more I look at the crock sitting there, the more I like its new spot.

The blue and green combo is one of my favorites....

…and why not have a little color addition to the mostly neutral laundry room.  A little pop of green can do a heart good.

Okay, now you have inspired me to do something to my eye sore of a laundry room. It was on my list for this week because we are having an open house Sunday. (Our house is for sell)
Love that old truck. Thanks.

It looks perfect in your gorgeous laundry room. Now I have another area on my list of revamps. I guess it never really ends, does it?

Oh Becky I use to change things every week when I cleaned. My hubby said if he ever went blind he would break his legs cause he would run over something. I don't move big things as much anymore, guess I got O-L-D. Ugh! I love your green hydrangeas in your crock, it does add color and looks great.

I decorate with faux flowers too..because of my curious kitties. I love your antiques on the shelves! Janice

They are a pretty little accent to your laundry room, Becky. I wouldn't have known they were faux flowers! I neglected to check on my many Annabelle hydrangea plants, and they're already starting to turn from green to brown. Darn! Enjoy yours!

Becky that's one elegant laundry space, and I love the crock with my favorite hydrangeas there.

I moved a few things about today too - I was dusting and thought I needed to change up some vignettes - I love doing that.

I've told you before that this is my all-time favorite laundry room. I would be happy to fold clothes and look at all the charming things in this room. I like the way the light comes in. People that take surveys of these types of things say the most people's favorite colors are blue and green. Sky and earth...I guess we are really very simple beings, right?

I can't get over how pretty your laundry room is. Mine is in the basement/cellar. My dream is to have one on the main floor someday.

My mother used to rearrange the furniture all the time when I was young, especially in the family room. You wouldn't have wanted to sit down in the dark because the couch might not be where you'd left it!

I do the same thing. I'll set something down in the most unlikely spot, and there it stays! Love your laundry room and every detail, including the crock.

Like you, I placed some flowers on my dryer and decided they added so much
they are staying. For now anyway! I spray painted an old silverish tray white and it found a home under the flowers (mine are yellow)

You inspired me to purge my laundry room and I love going in there now without the feelings clutter gives me.

It's the room where I would set things that needed doing, and the pile grew. One by one I either did the job or put things in my donate bag in the garage.

Lovely pop of green! I am delighted and inspired.
