Dedication

My blog is dedicated to our oldest son, Jordan, who passed away and entered the gates of Heaven on February 4, 2009.  His life has touched so many people in such a way that by keeping my blog going, it is like breathing for him still.  As my dear friend Kim (Daisy Cottage blog) said, "You are breathing now for Jordan".  She is right.  I AM breathing for him and speaking for him in his honor and memory.

Jordan served our wonderful country for 3 1/2 years.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force after trying to get into the Fire Science program at our local college.  There was such a long waiting list and classes filled up rather quickly.  Jordan has always dreamt of being a Fireman, therefore he decided to pursue his training through the Air Force.

He took all of the required tests, passed them and was on his way to fulfilling his dream.  When he first told us that he was joining the Air Force, our hearts were overjoyed - yet a bit nervous at the same time.  However, there is nothing in life that is more giving than to put your own wants and needs on the line in order to serve in the military.

Our family and friends will remember him for his the love, laughter, uncanny wit and compassion that he gave to so many.  He always gave of himself when others needed a day off to be with their family.  Jordan also loved a good practical joke and to ease the tension of a task when things became a bit daunting.  Since his passing, many of his friends have shared stories with us.  We are not a bit surprised to hear that he was so loved by so many - and will be remembered in the hearts of friends and family from all over the world.

Though I have days that I weep and my heart feels as it is going to stop, I am able to keep going knowing that my son, my dear Jordy boy, is now walking with Jesus in the most glorious of places - Heaven.  We shall be together again someday, but till then, I will keep taking each day as a gift and hold my dear boy close to my heart.  I can hear him calling my name.  I can hear his laughter and see his bright brown eyes looking at me with such love as he smiled his sweet and slightly crooked smile.

Always finding humor in life and ways to make you smile!

Jordan, we all love you.  Sweet dreams my son, sweet dreams.

In God's Speed, Jordan - Senior Airman, Fireman - United States Air Force.

We honor you and we honor your sacrifices to serve this amazing country we call home -
                                                        The United States Of America.
