Miss Becky~ I've just strolled in for a visit and to see all your treasures and catch up on past posts. Especially with that little kitty who's is incognito while life fusses around her.
I'm so happy to see you blogging. For me(with health problems)at times, blogging is quite cathartic.
I've wanted to thank you...I appreciated your company in the infancy of my blog. It was a bit of a struggle when I first started I knew nothing about computers or blogging. I'm truly enjoying this journey and the wonderful friendships along the way.
I agree...I think that the crazing is beautiful too. After all we all get better with age! Right? Just like china, to age naturally is a beautiful thing.
mmmm...ironstone. one of my favorite things to collect. i love the simplicity and that you can use it everyday. those butterpats of yours are adorable! chas
I'm a big fan of ironstone too. My mom always had an oval dish next to her stove to lay a spoon on..she had a stack of little ironstone dishes next to her stove now that I think of it...so I have several oval platters in a few sizes. I also like the ones that are crazed and brown..since they make them new that way now too...kinda funny. You know what I really love? The back stamps on them..some are so simple, but others have a more ornate stamp. Sometimes I just want to photograph back stamps and then what would I do? Make a flippy little book? Have my favorite tattooed on my arm..lol. Love your blog on ironstone ;o)!
I love white ironstone too. I have mine all tucked away though. I love your post below too. I have been meaning to paint my china cabinet for months. I may just have to go get some white paint today!
Have been using an old ironstone pot for kitchen scrubbies and am now reconsidering. Even though it is chipped and crazed, it has nobler purposes, I'm thinking.
I must have missed so much.I am so sorry I missed the passing of your son. This was about the time I was dealing with the lose of my mom. Im not really much better,Im sorry I wasn't there for you! God Bless you,Brenda
Good day to you Becky. Eventually I will get time and take pics of the lovely items left behind in this new cottage of ours. One particular piece, a tea cup, is like this dishes and it so pretty. Simple white & yet very elegant. Love it.
Becky, old ironstone is so popular especially the pitchers, which I love too. Crazing just gives the piece character just like my wrinkles. HA! Have a wonderful weekend. Jean in Virginia
Hi Becky, I've been painting also..antique white on small furniure pieces for the monthly sales. I had to put 3 coats on them...White is always so refreshing and pleasing to the eye. Your collections is nice. How's that little girl??!! Been to any garage sales?? Warmly, Deb :)
I have a small collection of ironstone begun with a little creamy pitcher from Earl's grandmother. I just picked up a cute tureen yesterday at a garage sale:>) I love it too!
I LOVE ironstone too...and have been gathering ironstone creamers. You have a lovely collection going. I..am having trouble keeping up with things it seems. Lots of family things going on...lots of things to do..weddings, baby's being born, children moving, looking for work, excelling in their chosen professions, stuggling in their chosen professions, being hurt, finding joy...just every day things..but sometimes it is like watching a movie in fast forward. Hugs to you my precious friend, Mona
I love old things too. But I bet you knew that. I'll come back over the weekend to see if the doggies get in the post. I'll have to take photo's of Daisy. Have a Blessed Weekend. Hugs, Sherry

I've never thought of them as age spots before. That old crackle like finish always gets me. It's my favorite.
