Friends, Fleas and Junk Yard Dogs!

This past Sunday was the Flea Market in our state capital, Sacramento. Prior to this day, Miss Michelle (I'm A Little Tea Pot blog) had purchased some vintage crochet potholders from me. We got to chatting via emails and come to find out, she and the wonderful Miss Linda (Somewhere In Time blog) were planning a trip to SAC Flea, too! What a wonderful day it was and meeting Michelle and Linda was just so much fun!!! They are both very sweet and fun ladies (yes you are!!) and Michelle and I were cell phoning (is that a word) each other during the morning about great finds. Mostly they had their eyes out for Scotty do-dads.

My sweet friend, Wave (who has the most wonderful collections and home) joined my husband and I on our quest for good finds. She brought her darling Scotty Dog Maude along and she and Duhgall hung out and shopped with us.

L to R: Wave (Maude is at the end of the leash), Me (I'm the giant), Michelle and Linda.

The flea is a good one, however I found that a lot of the prices were pretty close to retail prices.

The junk yard dogs....Duhgall (left) and Maude (rt). They are actually half brother and sister...same Dad, just different Mother. They got a lot of attention that day from other shoppers and were well behaved.

"Hey Duhgall," whispers Maude, "that poodle looks pretty stoned there...it just has a blank look on its face and isn't moving......Duhgall....Duhgall!....look! I am talking to you!!"

"Hey! Dude! Aren't you hearin' me, Duhgall?" says a frustrated Maude. "Maude," Duhgall professes, "I heard you, but my dogs are barking and I just want to lay down!"

How fun!! Those kinds of flea markets are the best. And to meet up with friends from blogs has got to be so fun and exciting! Which one are you in the "line up" and what did you buy? Sorry to be nosy, but inquiring minds want to know…

Oh my gosh, I'm still laughing! I love that poodle, although I'm afraid my mini would be a little intimdated by its size.
I may have to venture over the hill one of these days to check out the market.

Hi Miss Becky! or should we say Miss Giant!! lol!!

How wonderful to catch up with Michelle and Linda, looks like you all had the best time! Maude is adorable, a lovely lady friend there for Doogs!! We have just caught up on all your posts we have missed, love the painting from Susie Q, it's just gorgeous! And your Buntings are soo sweet, you make the prettiest things! We see why you love Pescadero, it looks so charming, with white picket fence and all, beautiful with the Pacific ocean nearby! Keep the dream Becky, you never know right?

Now the fire incident, your story telling has us smiling, but that is not funny, thank goodness you are okay! Yikes!! No candles for your Christmas present !!! Well we are off again, back in a month, will be checkin' in on you :)

Extra pat for Doogs and Socks, and a huge hug for you :)

How fun!!! It is so nice that you got to meet other bloggers, and at a flea market what the perfect place to meet. My computer has been down for about 2 weeks and I sure did miss stopping by to see your beautiful blog. I just know that one day I will go to your blog and there will be your white kitchen cabinets. You paint first and then I will go next. WELL maybe not, like I said before I want to stay married. Its not that he does not like white cabinets because he does, but it's because of the cost of the wood cabinets that I chose!!!! DARN!!
Take care,
ginger

What a cute post. So fun to meet some new friends and at a flea market. Even better. Looks like you had a lot of fun, but what I really wanted to see was what you bought. Maybe another post?

Love,

Hi, don't the Scotties look cute! No wonder they got lots of attention off people. Flea markets and car boots are great for finds...I'll just be glad when it's a bit warmer.

I don't know who is more adorable, the Scotties or you. What a fun day you must have had with blog friends and double Scotties! I wish my pair and me could have come. Do you have any goodies to show for the day?

Love them,

Hi Becky! It sounds like a wonderful time! I got the opportunity to meet Karla from Karla's Cottage and we had so much to talk about! I had to laugh at your caption "I'm the Giant!" I feel the same way at times...being 5'll" tower over everyone! It was nice to see your picture, and I agree you are just as cute as your blog! Have a great weekend!

Okay, I admit it...what I loved the best was reading about the dogs and seeing their pictures. Don't get me wrong, you gals look super and lots of fun! I just miss my scottie dog friends from Regina! I have no one to share my Gus with. Your little man is SO adorable. I hope you will share your flea finds soon. I am new at this blogging but I managed to put my scottie dog collection up on my blog right now. God bless, pam

Hi, I just popped over from Linda's blog, (somewhereintyme) and saw that you all met up at a market. How wonderful that you can arrange it! Birds of a feather flocking together!
I'm half a world away from all the lovely bloggers but do enjoy visiting all those lovely places in America and such friendly people. Luckily my sister shares my love of blogging and treasure hunting and we go regularly on a trawl of the thrift shops.
Greetings from Ireland ...Pam and Angie
