In Memory of September 11, 2001

Where were you when you first heard of 9-11?
My heart goes out for all of those who lost their lives, for the families and friends who suffered and still endure the pain of the incident....to those who unselfishly gave of themselves to help others....to our Country for having to experience such a tragedy.

God Bless America. God Bless the countries who have and continue to support our great Nation. God Bless everyone. Peace. Love. Remember.

I was on the computer and had the morning news on when it happened. We watched in horror all day long. I was a mix of emotions with one being anger, because I remembered the USS Cole and was furious it was not taken more seriously. Yes, I remember. I pray for wisdom for our leaders~for them to be steadfast in their resolve for peace and our safety. I pray for hearts to change.

I was in my car dropping the kids at school....I turned the radio down as not to upset them ...as soon as I got back I turned the TV on and could not help but stand and watch in horror.......

We had just land in SF early that morning. We felt so fortunate to have made it home before they grounded all air traffic.
May we never forget..

You have pictures I've never seen. I was home yelling at the firefighters "don't go in! the building is going to fall!" Still in my gown at 2:00 because I could not leave the t.v.

It still makes my heart sink to think about it. What a horrible, horrible day.
Thank you for posting this photo tribute.

I still cry, too, Julie. Our oldest son is a fireman and they will put their life second to save the life of someone else. To me, that is the ultimate sacrifice. Thanks everyone for sharing. xo, Becky

I was sitting in the living room of my apartment with my less than one month old daughter! It was terrifying, thinking I had brought this precious baby into the world and wondering if the whole world was about to end. And so scary to think of being a nursing mom of a newborn with who-knows-what about to happen. So scary and totally unreal.

I was at home when I heard the news, my heart stopped when the first building fell and when the 2nd one fell I think a part of my heart died that day. I was so upset that the people that were trying to leave the 2nd building were told they were safe and told to go back in, it was a horrible, tragic day.
Thanks for posting and I love your pictures I have not seen many of these before.

Fitting tribute to so many who lost their lives that horrible day, and to the brave men and women who continue to fight today to protect us all. God bless each one.

I remember I just left my assignment at the University. I was so happy it was a beautiful sunny day all seemed just perfect..then I heard the news on NPR. At first I thought they were talking about the first attack several years before. Then they said the pentagon was hit..that's when that awful sick feeling started. How could something so ugly happen on such a beautiful day?

I was at my home office (I telecommute)in Colorado, and my Mom in Texas called and asked if I had my TV on - said I had to see what was happening in New York - I immediately turned it on just in time to see the 2nd building burning - and we did not leave the TV the entire rest of the day and night. Disheartened disbelief is the best way to describe the feeling. The pictures still bring that feeling 6 years later - may we never forget...

Hello from Germany...on September 11 I was on work and I hear in the radio, that an aeroplane fly in the WTC. At first I thought it was a joke. Yesterday I flyed from Cologne to Munich and I must think of all the poor people, who must die and their familys.
I will never forget this day.
Sorry for my bad english...

I was driving with my son to Chico, CA where he was starting a Fire Academy. It was & still is one of the most horrific thing I have ever seen. Leaving my son was so hard but he was proud to be starting the academy!

We were having a couple of days' holiday in Cornwall and walked in to a café in Polperro to have an early morning coffee. They had the television on and the first plane had just hit the tower. The waitress's husband was a pilot flying out from Detroit and she had to rush home to try to make contact with him. We went back later in the day to find out if he was OK. He was - waiting at his hotel until they were given the all clear to fly home.
