Oh how I love chocolate cake! Love, love, love it! One of my all-time favorite chocolate cake recipes came from my dear and wonderful friend, Kim. The very first time that I had it was when Kim made lunch for Laura, Spencer and I. She served the cake for dessert and it was love at first bite!
Side note: My fourth grade teacher taught me this: There are two “s’s” in dessert because you want to make it last and last. There is one “s” in desert because you want to get out of it as fast as you can. Isn’t that just too cute?
It is rich, dense, moist and filled with gooey melted chocolate chips. Heavenly! I pray that God will have chocolate cake in Heaven!
And she comes up with this: “I hope that there are tasty doggie treats, too!”
If you would like to make this fabulous cake, here is Kim’s recipe:
Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 package INSTANT chocolate pudding (small box)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1- 12oz bag of miniature chocolate chips
Lightly spray a bundt pan. Mix above together in a bowl. Pour into bundt pan. Bake @350 for 45-50 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

Sounds positively divine!

Yummy! That looks and sounds delicious!
I had to laugh. Do you know how I teach my students that dessert has two s's? I always tell them that dessert is always sweeter with two s's! The things we teachers come up with and students still remember! :)
Yummy! Your cake sounds sinfully delicious!
I have that recipe and it is one of my all time favorites too. So easy to make and always a hit no matter when I make it. It is a nice cake to travel with, since it does not have to be iced. There better be cake in heaven or I'm not going. I love sweets too much!!! Fiona says she isn't going if there are not any dog treats. Love & blessings from NC!
Jordan is smiling upon you today. Hugs to you...
i will run to the store to purchase all the
above ingredients in great anticipation!
thank you for sharing.
i don't know about cake in heaven, but
i do know there will be a banquet table.
:)
Oh Yum! Going to try that one!
When you said it came from KIM, I didn't even have to guess which Kim you meant...
The pics look delish! and I have to say, Miss Fiona has grown up into a beautiful lady. No more little baby puppy there. She is lovely!!! Glad you ask their opinions and have them on your blog. Always love to see them.

Now little Fiona is adorable! I still think your Scottys are my Chloe Dawn's cousins. She a mini Schnauzer! :)
Be a sweetie,

Blessings!

Doesn't the Bible speak of sweet cakes somewhere? Or maybe I am just dreaming.
I thought of you today during worship service as our minister spoke of animals being in heaven.
Have a blessed evening,
Lynn
Well come on! If it's heaven there has to be cake! Plus chocolate, animals and pretty homes :)
Hugs

Yes, there will be cake in heaven and it will be calorie free. Dogs can loose and chase bunnies and butterflies and have doggie bones whenever they want.
My granddaughter was sitting on my dining room table. I asked her what she was doing. She said, "I want to be close to heaven." She just turned 4. Of course, I didn't make her get down. ((((HUGS))))
My daughter makes this same cake recipe and you are right, it is so yummy. If Heaven is as wonderful as the Scriptures say, then I think Chocolate cake will be there too :-)
I had some Chocolate birthday cake tonight...It's the best and my Mom made it!
I'm with you...if there is food in Heaven...I hope it's chocolate!
Deb :)
Oh YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Cake and ice-cream and pudding and hamburgers with lots of fresh onions. Pizza and candy bars and mashed potatoes and fried chicken. Mexican food with guacamole and chips... OK... I have to stop now and go get an apple.. since going 100% raw there are things that I REALLY miss but I am leaning to make so wonderful things!
Hugs
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..good and good for you.....and look at Fiona.....G-dog getting all goofy looking at her.....ARRRRROOOOOO...love ya angel......

This sounds like a serious chocolate cake for serious chocolate lovers. I have a recipe for a chocolate and date cake that is positively sinful. Let me know if you want it!
I'm with you on that one, it will be called something like "heaven's chocolate bliss cake"! Love the verse at the bottom of the post.
hugs.
Now it wouldn't really be heaven without chocolate or cake would it? I love this recipe too. I've been making it for years. Mimi
Oh this looks so yummy! Let Fiona know that there will be chocolate biscuits in heaven for all the sweet doggies! Max will bring her some ;)
xoxo
What chocolatey goodness...yum yum yum! I am sure there will be each of our favorite cakes in heaven...there just must be...
This cake recipe sounds like love at 1st bite:-) We enjoy bundt cakes and this is one I want to try. Thanks!
What a nice way to remember the difference between desert and dessert:")
Oh...this looks heavenly.....I also love the tablecloth it is sitting on...new or vintage???? It is so pretty! Just thought I would ask... :) Sandy
YES! There HAS to be chocolate cake in heaven! I might make this next week...which won't be good for my diet but my birthday is coming up, and diet or no diet cake is required!
DEFINITELY! And we won't have to worry about the calories or anything. It shall be Heavenly!
Delicious! I love chocolate cake too so I'll pray there is some in heaven. ;)
I found your blog through Denise's blog, Life at My House. I absolutely love your blog design. Did you design it yourself?
I read your tribute to your son and just want to say your are one very brave woman. God's grace is so amazing. It caught my eye because my 20 year-old son just finished fire training. Your tribute pictures made me cry and smile at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing them.
I look forward to visiting.
I am thinking that Fiona is adorable! Thank you for sharing your recipe. It sounds so delicious! Chocolate and cake and cupcakes too are favorites of mine and yes I hope they have it in heaven.
Love,
Susan and Bentley
xxoo
your cake is almost as yummy as Miss Fiona!!
Cake is my utter weakness...oh and Scottie Dogs!
xxx
Becky~ That is just the cutest way
of teaching to spell that chocolate cake . That has got to
be the best cake ever. I will have
to try it.:O)
I am drooling remembering that cake! Oh, and the hot chicken salad too! And the pizza place. And now I'm starving and on day TWO of the South Beach diet. Darn it!
I believe there will be chocolate in heaven, and it won't make you fat, and God will have some flavors we don't even know about yet! And chocolate won't be poisonous to dogs, I bet.
OK, I'm off to freshen my DIET coke now and try to forget this tempting post! Eat a piece for me.
XOXO,
Lallee
Wow this recipe sounds delicious.
I love chocolate.
Oh little Fee! She is such a doll. This cake looks deee-lish! :)

Manna from Heaven. Pretty sure that was a little clue that there will be cake in Heaven~!
Oooh, thank you for the recipe -- it looks delicious! And I'm thinking that Ms. Fiona is thinking she wishes there are CHOCOLATE doggie treats in heaven!
Oh Becky! I've eaten many a slice of this Chocolate Chip Poundcake. My dear friend, Ann, gave me the recipe when we were newlyweds! So sweet of you to share it!
I'm so happy you dropped by and enjoyed a bit of beauty with me. It's always a joy to hear from you . You are a breath of fresh air!
Big hug and blessings to you!

I ahve made this cake before and it is always a hit. Sometimes I substitute yellow cake mix, vanilla instant pudding and chopped up herseys bars and it makes a wonderful chocolate chip pound cake. I love your site. I am just starting out and you are an inspiration!
(((Beckers))))
YOUR cake looks delicious.
Hmmm, maybe one day you can make it for me while I sit at YOUR dining table.
NOW that would be heavenly too.
Love you,
Kim
