A "Flu"ke - Or Irony With Word Verifications

Dontcha just love those word verifications that pop up before you can leave a comment? Sometimes they are annoying as heck and difficult to decipher and sometimes they are actually a pretty funny mixture of letters.
Before Christmas I was visiting my sweet blog friend, Michelle (Cowboys and Custard) and was reading about how ill she was. She had been stricken with the nasty flu bug and was literally "saddled" and neck deep in Kleenex. Her long and growing list of things to get done before Christmas had to be held off till she got better. I was leaving her a couple of messages and that is when the irony popped up. Preholi - hmmm...kind of like preholiday? Pre-holiday pain-in-the-butt flu is more like it. A bit strange, ironic...so I got out my camera. You know, anything for blog fodder. Right?
Ok...and this one popped up...Fluckle. Now WHAT is a fluckle? Is it a new form of Flu? All I can say is that Blogger is lucky that they had the "L" in between the F and the U. Anywho, both words kind of struck that ol' bone of mine. Any of you ever had this happen to you?

I believe Michelle is feeling better and it is probably because her dear and loving husband, Mr. Custard - also known as Nurse Flo - gave her plenty of the proper nursing care whilst she was housebound. For a funny read, be sure to read Michelle's guide to a healthy Christmas. As for me, I believe I am still in some state of delirium from all of the sleep and Theraflu. Or it could be because I had a few shots of whiskey in my teee...teaa..tae. t. e. e. .......................................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............................. pardon...I dozed off. Honestly, just one shot before bed and I slept like a princess. Well, maybe not a princess as I look more like a wretched sea hag that bears a striking resemblance to Rudolph - but more like Carl Malden.

Thank you so much to all of your for the get well wishes and the phone calls. I just could hug you, but then again that might not be a good idea afterall.

Till the next post....ta ta. Sneeze. Sniffle. Cough. I have some thanking still to do to some very sweet and thoughtful friends!

Oh, Becky! I am so sorry that you are still sick. Take care of yourself. You have things to do! Make sure Mr. Sweet Cottage, Little Mr. Sweet Cottage and Master of the House, Doogs are all taking care of you.

Funny about those word verifications. Someone posted on their blog that it came up for them once as their last name! How wierd is that?

so funny! Don't take too much Theraflu! I swear I'm word verification challenged. Sometimes it takes me 3 times before I get it right. One time I was posting on a gal's blog named Shirl. The verification- Shirls!

I always laugh at those word verification thingies. I should start writing them down.
I hope you're over your flu soon. My son has had it and I am ready for him to go back to school! Maybe I should have snuck some whiskey in his tea. LOL

ha ha, I thought I was the only one who did that with the word verification!!! Quite often the 'word' is so 'fitting' to the situation you have commented on!!! Rachaelxo

Oh yes.. I've had some very funny word verifications.. and usually let the blogger know in the comment what it was. Hilarious some times! Fluckle.. I would have died laughing.
Hope you feel better soon!

I have seen some funny ones, and I appreciate that they are more "word-like" now than they used to be because theya re easier and faster to type in. I hope you feel better soon! My mom used to give me spoonsful of whiskey as a child when I was sick. I believe that explains why I have never been a drinker1 lol. Nasty stuff, but if it works, have one on me:>)

I never had the foresight to write them down {or take a photo} but I have run across some "hidden messages" that make me giggle.
good day to you. Chas

Yes, those Word Verification things can be funny at times. But mostly, I dislike having to do them.

They don't prevent much C.R.A.P. from getting into our comments actually. The 'Weirdos' always find a way around such.

Plus, Word Verification doesn't stop nasty people from commenting nasty things... so what good is Word Verification?

I use Comment Verification. Catches everything! And my readers don't have to submit to the Word Verification thing. :-) Just my way...

But then, we'd not have the fun of seeing "Fluckle," now would we? Or the fun of wondering what would happen, if the Word Generator _had_ left out the "l"! >,-)

Too funny. I've been thinking about these letters too since I have been blogging up a storm. They seem to be words almost. They can be pronounced with makes them easier and quicker to type in. Some of these I think could ALMOST be words. ha ha

Yep! Some really nutty word concontions show up. Fluckle?? What a hoot!

What is spot on though is your header, background and overall layout. Beautifully striking. And of course the Scottie takes it from striking right on into perfection! Nice job!
