Tomato - Toe-Maw-Toe

Red.
Plump.
Juicy.
Delicious!

Any way you slice it...
Any way you say it......
It is a gift for summer deliciousness!

Chopped and added to an omelette with fresh basil, cheese and bell peppers or...

.....cut into glorious thick slices for a BLT on freshly baked Ciabatta.

Toasted buns, snappy lettuce, baked ever-so-crisp thick slices of bacon...

...piled up for a wonderful summer dinner.

Any way you have it, nothing beats a home grown tomato.  We are lucky enough to be blessed by a friend who has a bounty of summer time veggies that he shares with us.  Ever so thankful for these fresh beauties!  Oh YUMMO!!!

I am growing tomatoes in a pot outside on my patio and we have been lucky enough to have several already! That omelette looks wonderful!

Oh my goodness that omelet looks good. I made one last week and it was delicious. This week it's taco salad with my tomatoes.

Your omelet looks so good! My all time favorite sandwich is lightly toasted bread, mayo and sliced tomatoes. Perfection!

Oh my gosh...I am so hungry now! I know I have some bacon in the fridge and tomatoes in the garden, is it lunch time yet?

Girl you are speaking my language! That bacon on Ciabatta looks scrumptious. You are right there's nothing better than a home grown tomato. I've ate so many my mouth is sore. I love them! I grew some salad tomatoes in the back yard, but my son-in-law grew the big ones.

Hooray for fresh tomato season and friends who share their bounty.
That omelette is a work of art. So colorful and fresh looking.

I'm in on the omelette - and right now we're adding to-MAA-toes (don't forget I still have my English accent for some words!) to just about everything on the table!

How you can make a vegetable look almost sinful is beyond me. Good for you!

Now I'm starving! Thanks Becky LOL

In answer to your question about the basement... yep, it's much cooler down there, especially because it's built into the side of the hill. I still need air-conditioning in the summer though.

Someday, I'm going to grow my own vegetables so I can walk outside and pluck a few tomatoes off the vine and enjoy. Your meals look delish, by the way. Yum!
