Beautiful Inspiration

decorating idea for bedroom When I dream of a room that would evoke peace and calm, I think of a room done in soothing blues, creams with subtle pops of green.

with these rooms that were designed by Decorator Phoebe Howard. Though the home is contemporary, she added old pieces to mix in with the new... decorating ideas 4 decorating ideas 5 …like the placement of the vintage camera on top of a small stack of books. I like the balance and symmetry here with the mirror that pulls your eye upwards and then back downwards to the stabilizing piece, the old wooden table.dec idea for bedroom 1 A beige background with pops of green in the pillows, the wallpaper & matching curtains and the darker shade of green in the bedside lamp make the look more organic. I love all of the texture and the mixture of wood tones.dec idea for bedroom 2 My favorite thing about this room is that wonderful chandelier. It has such pretty curves that look like a flower. Now notice how the shades of the bed, lampshades, carpet, side table and linens all meld together and then the pops of rust at the end of the bed match that of the flowers in the vase. Little decorating details like this allow the eye to move around the room – focusing first on the cubes then over to the bedside table. Do you see how that worked?dec idea for bedroom 3 This is a wonderful website with so much information for decorating and design. So glad I found it and I hope you will take a moment to visit it, too.

Wonderfully restful to the eye, but not enough color for my sensibilities. Beautifully executed style...are you going to be adding some of these ideas to your own decorating?

I've been to their website before, but it's been awhile, so thanks for the reminder to go back. I love each of these rooms, and I think everyone should have a nice calm bedroom to sleep in each night!

Hope things are good out your way!

Are we all gravitating toward calmer, cleaner interiors now? I know I need a little less color all of a sudden,(just a little less, I can't give it all up!) These rooms are so beautiful!

Oh, Becky, I have to disagree. Too formal and fancy for me. I love your home, the coziness, the happy colors, filled with all the things you love, and that make you happy! And, of course your darling scotties!!

Hugs,
Debbie
