A Simple Doily…

P1010203 …can add just the right feminine touch to a lamp shade. I recently found this handmade doily at an estate sale. It has the sweetest pink crocheted roses all around the edges.

My friend Karen inspired me awhile back to simply drape a doily over a lampshade – it adds such an extra layer of detail.

P1010202In the evening the softness of the light casts a perfect glow that accentuates the beautiful handwork of the graceful little doily.

P1010194 A soft feminine detail to the Home Goods lamp and shade that I found several years ago. I think it is a keeper!

Yes, I really love that look, too, though I am always concerned that the doily will go up in flames. I'm such a worry wart.

Beautifully soft and romantic touch Becky. Sorry I'm running behind here and missed your last post and the opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas. But I absolutely LOVE that photo of your son and the dogs...But oh my heck - you'd never talk my son into donning that suit....Glad your son is such a good sport (and makes a dang fine Santa as well!) Wishing you joy and hope for the new year....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
