boat and brushes

P1010004i Sometimes it is fun to mix items together that would never otherwise have met – like this old wood toy boat and vintage shaving brushes.

P1010002i

1 – 2 – 3 ….

three little brushes that now serve as “smoke stacks”.

Simple pleasures of decorating – just use what makes you smile.

........and that made me smile!
Do you know, when I flew with my dad down to Santa Barbara, we had to go through security twice, and both times my dad's shaving brush and soap came under scrutiny. The security people had to get an older security guard to come and verify just what it was that my dad had in his carry on - the younger fellows had never before seen shaving soap. It got a laugh each time!

You are SO creative, what I wouldn't give to have you at my house for a "redecorating" weekend! You'd make me see the fun stuff that would go together!

I love the look of the vintage shaving brushes on your little wooden boat! I have my father's beautiful, old shaving brush - it brings back such happy childhood memories. I often stood and talked to him while he used it.

shaving brushes but I keep mine in

Now those are just cute together! That boat is adorable, and the brushes look like the steam what's its on a boat. Sorry, lack of words this morning until I have another cup of coffee. I love seeing your collections. They are unique and different from everyone else's.
