Oh how I love chocolate cake! Love, love, love it! One of my all-time favorite chocolate cake recipes came from my dear and wonderful friend, Kim. The very first time that I had it was when Kim made lunch for Laura, Spencer and I. She served the cake for dessert and it was love at first bite!
Side note: My fourth grade teacher taught me this: There are two “s’s” in dessert because you want to make it last and last. There is one “s” in desert because you want to get out of it as fast as you can. Isn’t that just too cute?
It is rich, dense, moist and filled with gooey melted chocolate chips. Heavenly! I pray that God will have chocolate cake in Heaven!
And she comes up with this: “I hope that there are tasty doggie treats, too!”
If you would like to make this fabulous cake, here is Kim’s recipe:
Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 package INSTANT chocolate pudding (small box)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1- 12oz bag of miniature chocolate chips
Lightly spray a bundt pan. Mix above together in a bowl. Pour into bundt pan. Bake @350 for 45-50 minutes. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh. Do you know how I teach my students that dessert has two s's? I always tell them that dessert is always sweeter with two s's! The things we teachers come up with and students still remember! :)
Yummy! Your cake sounds sinfully delicious!
ReplyDeleteI have that recipe and it is one of my all time favorites too. So easy to make and always a hit no matter when I make it. It is a nice cake to travel with, since it does not have to be iced. There better be cake in heaven or I'm not going. I love sweets too much!!! Fiona says she isn't going if there are not any dog treats. Love & blessings from NC!

Doesn't the Bible speak of sweet cakes somewhere? Or maybe I am just dreaming.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today during worship service as our minister spoke of animals being in heaven.
Have a blessed evening,
Lynn
Well come on! If it's heaven there has to be cake! Plus chocolate, animals and pretty homes :)

Yes, there will be cake in heaven and it will be calorie free. Dogs can loose and chase bunnies and butterflies and have doggie bones whenever they want.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter was sitting on my dining room table. I asked her what she was doing. She said, "I want to be close to heaven." She just turned 4. Of course, I didn't make her get down. ((((HUGS))))
My daughter makes this same cake recipe and you are right, it is so yummy. If Heaven is as wonderful as the Scriptures say, then I think Chocolate cake will be there too :-)
ReplyDeleteI had some Chocolate birthday cake tonight...It's the best and my Mom made it!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you...if there is food in Heaven...I hope it's chocolate!
Deb :)

I read your tribute to your son and just want to say your are one very brave woman. God's grace is so amazing. It caught my eye because my 20 year-old son just finished fire training. Your tribute pictures made me cry and smile at the same time. Thank you so much for sharing them.
