Will Work For Chocolate

As a child, my Nanny would pay me for dusting her faux fruit and the inside of her china cupboard. The reward would be a cup of hot homemade cocoa that was served in my special cup and saucer that was always in the same spot in her china hutch.
So I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned......
.....and drank happily when I was all done, from this very cup and saucer...my own little treasure at my Nanny's house. ..........

There are things to be cleaned here, things to sew, and taxes to be turned in. With that, I am taking a break for a week and will be back next weekend. I will miss everyone, but will catch up to you soon!
Ok, Mr. D., I will toss your ball with you now!
It is the small things in life that make life all worthwhile.
**Hugs**

Becky: I'll work on my "tag you're it" when I get back from the quilt show today. Hopefully, I'll have pictures to post. I can't wait to see what you are sewing.

Mr. Doog's: Aunty Jean will play with you this week if Mommy doesn't have time to. You were a good boy yesterday.

hi! i just found your blog via nostalgia fairy's blog. i couldn't help but laugh at the "dusting faux fruit" story. to even have faux fruit to begin with is hilarious but the fact that she required it to be dusted is just too much.

Hi Sweetie, thanks for the tag! That's sweet that you had your own special cup at Grandma's! I hope you get everything you want done. We haven't gotten around to doing our taxes either.

Hi my dear! I spent the weekend away with my hubby and am just trying to get around to catch up before the day gets going!

While I was gone I went into the cutest coffee shop, that was filled with Scottish Terrier vintage stuff, you would've loved it! I'll show some pics later today (hopefully!)...

Don't work too hard Becky, maybe stop for several drinks from your lovely cup and saucer, not too much cocoa though, it may send you to sleep, then no work will get done. x

What a beautiful cup and saucer and a fun memory shared! Love Mr. D. He is so very adorable! Is that his real name or nickname? Our little grandson is named 'Dylan', but 99% of the time we call him 'Mr. D'. :o) (He's adorable too!).

I love it when people have sweet memories of their grandparents...I didn't know my g-mothers so I missed those times. I try so hard to be a good Memaw to our 10 and I pray every night that they will have fond, sweet memories of me!
Thank you for sharing!
I, too, am going to take a break soon for cleaning and such around my cottage....
See ya when you get back!

Haha I know that Doogs stance. I see it several times a day. Poor dears. Their mommies are so busy and they don't understand. Enjoy your week off from blogging, or does it work that way since you'll BE working? Anyway, stop and use that beautiful cup to help you get by.

Hugs,
Lallee
