Little Stitches

I absolutely love the look of Redwork and fond of both new and old. There is a simplicity and a rather pure look to it. It also goes without saying that red is one of my very favorite colors.

The above pillow I made and donated to our local Garden Club last summer for a raffle prize.

I am rather tired of these dark and gloomy days and taking pictures that turn out can be rather daunting and challenging to say the least. This little handmade quilt adds a little brightness to a day. This past year I have made a few things and have carefully stored them away in hopes of selling them on eBay someday. For the quilt I used bits of vintage tablecloth fabrics - lots of reds and whites with cherries, roses and geraniums. These fabrics remind me of a summer picnic! It would also be cute as a tablecloth.
Another little redwork piece that I incorporated into a pillow. Where is the watermelon to go with the red and white gingham? Oh, and check out the little cherry print flirty ruffle!
Like so many of you, I adore vintage textiles. This is a sweet vintage kitchen towel with the most adorable playful puppy! Sweet pink and white fabrics coordinate with him and vintage white and blue rick rack and a vintage simple pink button add texture. Now I did not make these, but could not pass them up! At first I was going to use them for pillows, but I could not bring myself to seperating this cute set. Whoever made them did an awesome job! All of the above items are for sale on our eBay site. Our link is on the sidebar for those interested.

There are a few new lovely blogs to visit!! Go and meet Dawn at Maebell Park and Stephanie at The Heart Of Hartman! Dawn has some cute old Valentine graphics to copy, too! Welcome ladies!

Thank you for the red fix! I love everything you have listed. Between eBay and two new blogs to visit, you may as well have offered me a big bag of potato chips. All of the above are irresistible.

XO!

Love that red!!! do you hand quilt or do you have a machine.. I have so many projects to finish but I am trying to hand quilt them all.. I am thinking about just taking them to the local quilter and get them all finished.. I inherited about 12 quilts from my grandmother and about 8 of them are ready to quilt... and the others are in need of finishing the piecing... sooooooooo I just do not have the time to hand quilt them........ bummer... I am going to give them away to brothers and sisters and cousins.....

There is something so satisfying about red and white together! It is so clean and crisp! Not only does it identify Valentines, but my favorite picnic color scheme with stripes and checks!
