angel wings…….

P1010071 Today I write this post through tears and with a heavy heart. My dear and sweet mother, Carol Sue, passed away last night. Though I am hurting inside, I do know that she is now in Heaven and no longer in pain.

My mother was so sweet – an artist, an incredible baker, a visionary and one of the kindest people to have walked this earth and was always smiling. She was my girl scout and 4-H leader, a Sunday school teacher, an interior designer, a loyal friend and companion, loved to camp and make meals for everyone who stopped by the campsite, and an awesome gardener. She always made sure that there were beautiful flowers in the yard and she would nurture them by handwatering each night.P1010001c

She loved to send me flowers for my birthday, too. This particular bouquet was for my big 50th birthday last year. I remember how gorgeous the pink roses were and how fresh they stayed for so long.

scan0012 Momma was the big sister who loved her little brother, Butch, and sister, Saundra. Blonde hair, big blue eyes and the biggest smile ever.

My cousin reminded me this morning of story: My grandmother told mom to go out and pick a tree branch for her spanking. (I don't think there is anything worse than to have to bring in your own switch for an attitude adjustment!) Mom, being the little instigator that she was, came back into the kitchen carrying a whole tree branch. Grandma could only laugh and momma was spared from being spanked.

My sweet momma……

I love you so, so much.

I wish I could have said goodbye, but I will say Hello next time I see you.

Stretch your wings now…you have earned them. God has a big canvas for you to paint on and you won’t be in pain doing so. Now you can paint till your heart is content. Be free…angel face…be free…….

Copy of wave pic

Ps 34:18 The Lord is near to those who are broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit!

I love you, Momma.

Always and Forever your baby I will be….

Momma, your favorite song now plays for YOU....Bridge Over Troubled Waters. See, I do listen!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To my friends, I will be back later. I just do not know when, but till then, I love you, too.
  16. Well Becky, I just sent you an email after reading your previous post and then clicked again and read this. I am so very sorry. Mothers are...... well, mothers. Can that be an adjective, because I can't come up with a better one right now? The word softness comes to mind when I remember mine. You are most certainly in my prayers now for all your sorrows. I love you.
    Soon, I too will be going through the loss of my mother. She is barely hanging on, her body will not be able to do so for much longer. I don't want to lose her, but she is ready and waiting to see Daddy and other loved ones. It does help to know she will finally be free of pain and sadness which she truly deserves.
    Take care, dear one, and know you are surrounded by love. --Leslie
    I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my mom last September (pancreatic cancer) and am still struggling. Life changes. My mom was the center of our family. We drew closer together and cherish the memories. Like you, I know where my mom is and that I WILL see her again. Doesn't make me miss her less though. Remember that she is with your sweet son - and they will watch over you. (((HUGS)))
    You are the way ...
  110. having lost my dearest mother paula last february, i can totally realte to your sorrow. what a beautiful tribute to her. i love the vintage photo of her with her siblings and the song you included. my brother and i made a video of my mother's farewell at sea. she was cremated and her ashes scattered in the pacific ocean of the coast of pablo neruda's house in chile, one of her best friends. rose petals were tossed into the sea. i chose frank sinatra's song all the way and my brother chose last train home. as the days go by, you will feel your mother very very close to you, maybe even more than before. i know it sounds strange but this is what has happened to me. i feel her with me right now as i write to you.
  119. Becky,
    I am so sorry for your loss, but I am happy for your Mom. I lost both of my parents within 14 months of each other over 30 years ago, it is still hard.....my husband and I just lose our best friend, he was 51, only 2 motnhs to be ready for it. Just wasn't near enough. .....sadness is inevitable, but not for them ,just for us.....What a wonderful Mom you had!!!! Take one day at a time....it really is all we have...:) Sandy
  121. I have been following your site for a while. I posted a while back about the loss of your son. I am so sorry about the passing of your Mom. I too have lost my son, he was 32. My grandmother lost her daughter in a car wreck, my Mom lost her son (my brother) in a car wreck and 4 years ago I lost my son in a car wreck. All three generations. I know your pain and I agree, time does not lessen the feeling of unbearable pain. I too yearn to kiss my boy on the neck and smell only his special scent. I still grieve everyday, some aren't as hard as others. I will keep you in my prayers, Mickey
  122. I am sending you prayers of comfort, just know that you two will be united again in the future! Read the book, Heaven is for Real. It will be a help to your healing. My mom passed almost 30 yrs ago, not a day goes by that I don't think of her, and the love for her is still as strong as ever. She is not gone, and neither is yours. God Bless You.
