Routine Oriented

P1010012 Hello dear ones! Rise and shine and shake the sleepies out of your head. Another day has been given to us to enjoy and make the best of.

What do you do when you first get out of bed? Do you feel like you want to just crawl back under the warm covers or wake up feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the new day?

P1010003u1As for me, I am very routine oriented, I know I am kind of sick like that. First off, down to the kitchen for my first cup of French Roast coffee – the stronger, the better! Grab a bite of breakfast…either a muffin or, my favorite, a hot bowl of oatmeal with a smidge of sugar and milk on top.

P1010001fP1010012fNext, make the bed, straighten up the living room, dust a few things and open all of the blinds to let the morning light come in. Some mornings the “fairy wand” – aka The Swiffer – comes out for a little dusting action.P1010009P1010044

P1010011After the morning routine, the rest of the day falls into place. Before you know it, it will time to make dinner.

Till next time,

xxoo

  2. I am right on your heels, I'm a morning routine kind of person. Mine is Wheaties (the breakfast of champions, you know - someday I truly believe it will work for me :) Love all your pictures, you're a fabulous photographer. I added you to my blog roll so I don't miss a thing. Hugs ~ Mary

  3. Good Morning! I’m drinking my morning coffee and reading your post. By the way I love your dishes and the little salt and pepper shakers that take me back to my childhood. I’m a little bit retro too (born in 1945). Your blog is such a cheery place to visit. Have a great day! Your blogging friend, Connie

  5. Funny, my routine is similar! Except I like to eat later in the morning. But I HAVE to have that strong coffee!

    Lovely pictures, Becky!

  6. I understand. I am very routine oriented in the morning- tea, bagel with peanut butter and sit at my computer for my morning ritual of hotmail, newspaper, coupon sites and quick session of blogging. Then time to get kids ready for school. I wouldn't have it any other way.

  7. One word...coffee!! It really is what makes me get out of bed in that morning! I make my usual cup, and sit...here, reading email and such, then I get moving...getting my son off to school etc....I really do enjoy mornings though, I always wake up happy and I like to get an early start! It's awfully pretty out today in the valley! =)Deanna

  8. I do usually hop right out of bed in the morning, more so when it's warm and the sun is up! I admit to snuggling under the covers on cold winter mornings. I have coffee, eggs and homemade toast most mornings and then off to work!

  9. Yes, I have a similar routine except that I make the bed first since I'm not sure if I'll be back upstairs before bedtime. Then I pretty much follow your routine until I get sidetracked reading blogs.☺

I love that you use your vintage stuff.

I love my mornings...the earlier the better. I like to go to the store for groceries then come home and then start my day...lol I hate shopping in the evenings...argh.

  13. I've always had morning routines. When I didn't work my morning was very similar to yours. Now that I'm teaching again my morning starts really early. Must have coffee and make the bed. :)

  14. I used to be a lot more routine oriented before I moved here to this "retired life" I now live.
But, I guess I still do have a bit of a system...albeit a lazy one.
    routines are good...keeps us centered.
I read a really good book awhile ago (quite awhile ago), can't remember the author, but it was called."The Rituals of Our Lives".
It had to do very much with all the little things we do each day, routinely, that make up who we are.
    It was really good.

  15. Yep, I love to get up and get started. It's usually around 10 by the time I've had devotions, breakfast, and dressed though!

  16. Me too Becky. I am an early bird, 5a.m. every morning for the last 44yr. Up and make coffee first, breakfast next and then make the bed, shower and I am dressed for
my 4mi. walk. When I get back, I can either work in the house or
sew. I love to do both. Love your pictures and you made me hungry for muffins. Guess what we're having for breakfast now!!!

  17. First thing on my mind in the morning is coffee! Usually wake up before the alarm goes off, stumble out into the kitchen, put the coffee on, light the fire and check the outside temperature. Have a great weekend Pam

  18. Wow...your mornings sound quiet similar to mine, except between coffee and the swifter action I make my way out to the barns for morning chores.....Yes, I am a very routine oriented person and I don't take being thrown from my routine very well....just ask my husband...lol!

  19. Such pretty photos! I am a "ritual" person as well. Get on my yoga mat next to my bed and do stretching exercises. Take my morning shower. Feed the dogs. Get a bowl of cereal with fruit, and sit down to answer email. Then brew some coffee.
