Like so many of you, boxes have been pulled out, sorted through, messes made, glittered floors vacuumed up and the end result is simple this year.
My favorite new find is the wood cabinet that is hanging on the wall. It is full of my favorite smalls and adds some warmth to our dining room. Glitter Santas mixed with red jingle bell garlands sit on top of an old white cabinet. The Victorian book helps to bring the display “up” to show off the tiny church and bottle brush tree. Old worn silver plate loving cups sit to the side and are filled with antique bobbins and rulers. No rules to decorating here – anything goes, just as long as it has the “good old feeling” to it.
I love the old fashioned Christmas feeling these decorations give Becky! They are serenely beautiful:>)
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas decorating! I have a glitter Santa very similar to the one in the first picture holding a tree.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you decorate. So many wonderful layers. I too have sorted and thinned out this year. No clearing of all shelves just adding to what I already have.
ReplyDeletelove the old silver...i've recently started looking for old aluminum too...especially when it has lots of detail. I still haven't dec'd my tree...will have to get on that today :)
ReplyDeleteI love the good old feeling of things too...putting mine all up today and it's blowing and snowing here..perfect! Come say hi sometime. :D

ReplyDeleteI can see why you like that cabinet-very unique. Is that braiding up the front of it?
I like a hodge podge of decorating too. Whatever I love!

Becky I did the same thing this year. I tried to keep it simple and for me that is hard. I donated a huge bag of Christmas stuff to the thrift shop and I was glad I did. I found two elves there like yours so I adopted them and brought them home. :) I love your wood cabinet and all of your Christmas decorations. You always have it decorated so neat.
ReplyDeleteI love this style. I usually decorate this way too, but this year I changed it up. I have so much in my storage boxes that I didn't have to buy anything though, my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!
Blessings,
Marcia
P.S. Jordan got a good report this week from the doctor, his blood work was good and it looks like the infection is almost gone! Thank you for continuing to let people know about him. He continues to have a wonderful attitude :) I know that all the prayers have helped, and many have learned of Jordan because of your link. Thank you!
