Pssssst……come closer….
….a little closer….
.....I have a little secret to share…..
I LOVE seersucker fabric! Cool…crisp…cotton – perfect for summer! I found these ADORABLE fabrics at Joann’s Fabrics. As soon as I spotted the array of fresh summery colors across the room, my heart started racing and a choir of angels were singing over head. Does fabric do this to you? Well, I have to admit, certain colors and patterns just make me HAPPY! So, like a kid in the candy store, I wanted some of each. The line is called Tootie Fruitie - isn't that just too cute?
I feel some projects coming on! A little summer shirt, a tote bag and perhaps a pennant banner….
Hey, fire up Mr. Janome for me and load up my bobbins!
Tootles……
Funny - but when I saw that pink and blue and rose and turquoise I thought "bunting'!....and then you wrote 'banners'. We're brilliant!
ReplyDeleteHave fun.....and let's see the photos when you've finished.
I LOVE the colors and patterns on these Becky! I have seen them and wanted them but I really need to use some of my stash before I can justify buying more, *sigh*. I can't wait to see what cute stuff you make though!
ReplyDeleteDid you say Joann's? I must find one! I have felt the same way about the Spring fabrics! They make you want to SEW! Enjoy your day! It looks like a happy one so far! ♥
ReplyDeleteOh, those are all so bright and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI get those same angels singing when I go to rescue a new kittie, and I've found just the right one. (We must always have two, or my hubs isn't happy at all.) Sometimes, it happens at an antique store or a garage sale, and yes, sometimes at the fabric store. Love your fabrics. So bright and pretty!
ReplyDeleteI just adore these colors and fabric too!!!!! A banner????? Please show us! :) I don't sew, but I would lvoe to have a craft project out of this somehow! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I love seersucker too, Becky. Those prints are wonderful...and it is the perfect sewing day today here...cold and rainy! Hmmm...what will you make?
ReplyDeleteI am just starting to discover my addiction to fabric. I found a wonderful store by me that is an outlet and sells expesive fabric for only $1.00 a yard. I don't sew but figure I can make some darling tablecloths and napkins.
ReplyDeleteYour stack is beautiful!
Hugs,
Joanne
Oh, yes, I'm right with you on the yumminess of fabrics...now don't forget to show and tell all of the goodies you make with it. I remember when my kids were little, I loved seersucker for "bubble suits" as we used to call them. One piece, cute and cool for summer. Did you sew clothing for your boys when they were little?
ReplyDeleteHave a fun time with your cheery fabrics!

Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI saw these fabrics the other day when I was picking up fabric to recover my mom's dining room chairs and my heart skipped a beat too. There is just something about seersucker, makes me want to sit down on my porch swing with some seersucker pillows and a glass of lemonade:)
Hugs,
LeAnn

Oohhh I love seersucker as well. I will have to hop on over to Joanns since you inspired me to make some summery things!
ReplyDeleteThat pile of pretty precious posies is singing ...summer weight quilt to me! Large squares maybe tied instead of quilted over a thin cotton batting. With a couple of pretty matching pillow shams and a ruffled bed skirt. Crisp white sheets...and an open window. Ahhhhhhhh.

I saw some of those at Joanne's and I thought my heart would stop! I think I need to go back and get some for summer shirts and tops, too. Hope you will show us what you make.
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
This is just funny Becky! I went to Hancocks and bought seersucker. Blue with white daisies, green print for the DIL. I think I have some money left on my Joanns card. I'll have to go find some of that tuttie fruitie. Can fabric be delicious?!!
ReplyDeleteI am madly in love with those fabrics. Just had to say that.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you are going to have sewing with those fabulous colors!!
ReplyDeleteSeersucker - a lifetime fav, plus - it usually doesn't require ironing! always feels cooling too, the puckery fabric seems more breezy somehow. Love your blog which I just subscribed to on bloglines.
ReplyDeleteBecky, I almost jumped through the screen when I saw these fabrics! Seersucker takes me immediately back to my childhood. Why does seersucker always feel cooler than just flat cotton? I never have figured that out. The bright colors of these fabrics make me want to go buy a truck load, but I have no idea what I would do with them. Never mind the fabric I bought for my birthday last year that still sits folded and un-sewn. I am so in trouble if I go near Joanns while these are available. I will try to enjoy them vicariously through you.
ReplyDeleteI have been living outdoors every chance I get. Springtime is SO short in Florida. How I wish I could tie it down to linger for a while.
Tons of hugs and love sent your way!
Lallee
