Many months ago I had come across Elyse's wonderful cottage shutters that she was making and selling on her ETSY. They were just the perfect touch to add to the guest bedroom, which I am slowly reorganizing - a "spring cleaning" project in the making. For now I have them leaning against the wall but eventually each shutter will go on each side of my favorite green cabinet.
A girl just HAS to have some PINK somewhere in the house!
When I was a little girl I had to have PINK things! My beloved Nanny (which, by-the-way, today would have been her 99th birthday) made sure I had PINK things...be it dolly clothes, a crocheted stuffed animal or clothing).
When I was a little girl I had to have PINK things! My beloved Nanny (which, by-the-way, today would have been her 99th birthday) made sure I had PINK things...be it dolly clothes, a crocheted stuffed animal or clothing).
Her favorite thing was to remind me of this story:
She had a bulldog by the name of Chipper. Well, Chipper was often times on the smelly side - by this I mean he would rip out some nasty smelling ffffffttttttssssssttttttsssss! You know, the silent BUT deadly rips!
One day, and I remember this as if it was yesterday, the deadly wafting of Chipper's ffffttttssssttttssss met my nostrils! I looked up at my Nanny and said, "Nanny....it that were PINK it would've smelt goooood!"
As I became a grown woman, Nanny would often times remind me of the PINK fart story. (teee heee).....
Many moons ago I posted about this old chippy white cabinet that once stored towels in our bathroom. For now it holds old quilts and rosey vintage tablecloths.
This time of year our lovely climbing pink rose bush is full of gorgeous blooms that smell like "PINK"!!!!......soooo wonderful!
Have a rosey weekend!

ReplyDeleteYour new shuters are going to be wonderful in the room.. I love that look.
And ok.. this is crazy.. but that flower pot up in the birdcage?.. is that plain cream colored with a ribbon around it?.. like mine??

I used to have a whole set of four, but now there is only one.
Everyone needs a little pink for sure. Especially if you're surrounded by men and stinky dogs. Mimi

Yep, my pink room is Darby's. It's a fun array of pinks and greens with pictures of dahlias that I took over in Carmel. I agree every house needs pink! :)

ReplyDeleteI liked your pink post! I'm patiently waiting for my roses. A few weeks to go!
ReplyDeleteOh, sweetie, just looking at those roses makes me drool. I won't see mine blooming at least until the end of June...sigh.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I know what you mean about those stinkies. My darling white kitty produced one the other night that I would call "green". Ooooo, it was awful! Didn't bother her a bit! It was MY nose that was closest to the "offending area".
Those shutters are wonderful and I am headed over there to see if there is something I want......... I have just transplanted a pink rose and I am soooooooo hopeful takes root and once again gives me much joy of many pink roses......
ReplyDeleteLove the pink fart story! I was laughing out loud. Your pink pictures are so pretty. I look forward to seeing your shutters in the guestroom. laurie

Oh...you are so funny! Mixing pink together with a funny fart-y story! (I happen to think farts are extremely funny and even though it's not very ladylike, I laugh hysterically at them!) VERY NICE pictures to go with the stories! I love, love, love that cabinet and the gorgeous blooms! YAY for pink!

I love your little cupboard. I have some of those sweet lady planters too. Every gal must have a little pink somewhere. Aren't memories wonderful? The rose is just breathtaking. I just got a new pink double knockout rose yesterday. If it does as well as my red knockout it will be full of blooms soon until November. Have a great Monday.

Ha!! Kids say the darndest things, you little cutey! I think it's great that you have loved pink since you were a mere little lassie. I love pink too, but have serious doubts about a pink dog fart smelling any better than the usual colored ones, ROFL!
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Karen
My new kitty could compete with Chipper. I picture your grandmother laughing over and over with your pink comment. Too cute!
