I would like to start out this New Year with a HUGE THANK YOU to Jennifer Grey! As most of you know, Jennifer treats us the beginning of each month to her Cottage Of The Month article on her fabulous and cottage chic website, The Old Painted Cottage. A visit to her site is like a little gift just waiting to be opened and marveled at. So for this month, stop over for a little Scottish treat. You will want to grab a cup of coffee and a piece of shortbread and linger awhile at Glendoghall Cottage as you relax to beautiful Celtic music that plays along.
You see, Glendoghall Cottage belongs to my sweet friends, Doug and Wave - along with Hank, Bonnie and Maude McFie. I have had the priveledge of sharing bits of their home on my blog over the past year.
Trust me, I did wish to share more with you, however knowing my lovely friend Jennifer was going to give you a beautiful gift come January 2009, I held off.
Glendoghall Cottage is a lovely place to call home for Doug and Wave and their sweet pets. Here is the Matriarch of the clan, Miss Bonny. She looks mighty good for 15 - well, that would be 105 in people years!
Happy New Year friends! Wishing you the very, very best from our house to yours!
~~~Off I go to take a nap amongst the green hills covered with sweet Heather and listen to the bagpipes' resonating drones carrying the sounds on the mist through the Scottish Moors.~~~
I saw that COTM yesterday and immediately thought of you. My first clue was the wee scotties everywhere. And when it said at the end that the photographer was Becky, my suspicions were confirmed.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job, Becky, and I love the house. So much character. I am going to link to it myself today.
Happy New Year to you and all your family, sweet Becky.
love,
Kate
Becky, you took fantastic photos of Wave's wonderful home. Even before I read whose home it was and photos by you I knew it was your friends home. I recognized some of the dog collectibles you had shown us before. She has some of the most special scottie and othr dog itemsI have ever seen. I love the outside of her home too. There are so many little touches that make it awesome. Please tell her how much I enjoyed the tour.
ReplyDeleteHappy New year to you and Wave.
Good Golly Miss Molly..you took a pix of MY red house in Sonora..lol..I wish..that pix in Jamestown tho, with the green pillars/columns, is my friend Mallory's store. The Antique Emporium. Her family used to have a grocery in there back in the day. The day we were in Monterey/Pacific Grove last week, I saw a blooming poinsettia and a hydrangea in someone's yard. Those flowers would freeze 'up the hill'..thanks for the fun tour..and your son and his girlfriend, very handsome!
ReplyDeleteWishing a very Happy New Year Becky to you and your family. x
