What Have Ya Been Up To?

Hi there!

What have all of you been up to?
Well, I hope this post finds you well.

I have been busy this past week and also received some sweet
treats in the mail. The ever-so-talented Sadie sent me this adorable ornament - handmade
by the lovey lady herself! Be sure to hop over to see what Sadie has been up to with Lolli Shops! She is one amazing gal!
See the little cutie pie below? He came all the way from Daisy Cottage!
Do you think Maggie helped her mamma Kim pick him out for Duhgall?
He is just precious!

Now he is hanging out with his friends on a little shelf.

Thank you so much, Sadie and Kim, for your sweet thoughtfulness! ((hugs))

Besides my friend, Patrice, anyone else out there following the Boston Red Sox?
We are huge Red Sox fans and basically have been glued to the TV when
the games are on. Fingers and toes crossed they make it to the World Series!

Just kind of been moving some things around in the house lately. I found the '20's print awhile back (of course had to have it for the bird and squirrel!) as well as the door stop and pitcher. They are all on top of a shelf in the powder room.

Some pumpkins and a new sign for the porch.

The vintage owl planter jumped in my cart the other day....that has been happening lately!
I love the sweet look on his face and he looks good with the white pumpkins.

ScArY! A 40's paper mache' owl sits inside an old black bird cage.

I have to let Heidi know that Miss Socks is just fine. Heidi, let handsome Mr. Dagi know that
Missy S hides all day and loves nothing better to be a lady of leisure. See where she is?
She is under my sewing chair. 'K Socks, move along...have to sew now.

There is a fabulous newer quilt shop in Manteca by the name of Lady Bug Quilts and the owner, Jennifer, is just a delightful young lady! Not only does she have a lovely shop, she is also so much fun to visit with. Last week I visited the shop to buy some sewing essentials and saw that she is having a contest for aprons and tote bags. The prizes are $50.00 store gift certificates!

So I went home and whipped up some bags. I made two - there are three tote bag categories - and may try to get another one done this week.

This one has a mix of old and new fabrics with vintage buttons and ric rac.
The bag below is made from a fun vintage inspired daisy fabric that I bought at Lady Bug.
I added red polka dots (a must have), ric rac and little flowers and ribbons to the top.
Even if I don't win, it is just so much fun to make these bags.
Toodles for now!

  14. What sweet treasures!
You know, things jump in my cart all the time. My dh looks skeptical when I try to explain this strange phenomenon, but now I have you to back it up, since it happens to you as well. (sometimes it's not even a treasure, but a bag of M&M's at the grocery store)
    ;)

  28. A note from Dagi...

Hello there Ms. Socks. I think you have just the right philosophy in life. You have to because, afterall, I too live a life of leisure. That is what we regal cats are put here on earth to do. Someone has to set a good example for our busy owners. What is it that they do all day anyway??? Well, my owner has to stop and pet me regularly as I think she makes the purrfect pillow to sleep on while she is sitting in her chair quilting or stitching. Keep up the good work Ms. Socks and I hope you can be seen more often. I think you are pretty cute!

    Hugs and kitty kisses ~
    Dagi (and his owner Heidi)

  30. I LOVE the bags, especially the daisy one! Is that giant ric-rac around the top?!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi Craftymama! The ric rac is not the giant stuff, but about a half inch or so in size. I have used the giant stuff before, found at JoAnn's Fabrics, and love it. This one is the medium size stuff. Thanks for the visit!
