Cottage Vignettes

A favorite vignette with a small collection of religious items ~ an old chalkware Madonna, old silver Prague figure and a Holy Water bottle.
Little crowns and little old jewels that I treasure.

One of my favorite things to do is to layer old items on shelves. Here are some
more of my "cottage faces" on an old white metal shelf.
Have a lovely week! I hope that life is serving you up spoon fulls of joy!

  5. (((Becky))))
I just spent the most WONDERFUL time catching up with your posts and loving all that you shared - especially sweet Jean's token of kindness and well EVERYTHING that you've received and done as of late. The new bedding is so pretty and calming - and of course your cottage vignettes are always endearing. I'm missed you and I am so glad that I have had my visit and my Becky-fix. Love ya!!

  6. Becky, Isn't it amazing how much fun you can have by simply changing our little vignettes. You can do something as simple as adding a little piece of lace or doiley, or add a piece of bling( as Karla from Karlas cottage likes to say) and it truly does give us pleasure. Its great playing house.
    Have a great evening.

  21. Hello! I just wanted to tell you that the statue is not The Madonna but a statue of St. Therese of Lisieux, known as the little flower. She was a carmelite nun who lived a very devoted life to Christ. She died at age 24 in 1897 after a long bought with Tuberculosis, I think it was. You can learn more about her life here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thérèse_of_Lisieux

Statues of her are very common because she is a very popular saint. The statue often gets mistaken for The Virgin Mary. She is always depicted with Roses because of what she promised to do when she was in Heaven.

    Very lovely statue!

    May God Bless you!
