Up On A Shelf
You might have already seen this shelf before if you have viewed my Flickr photo album. For those of you who haven't seen it before, I will tell you a little story about it. This little shelf sits on top of a favorite cabinet in our master bathroom. (Someday I will share the entire room after we remodel...but don't hold your breath because it will not be anytime soon).
I have a "thing" for white matte pottery and here are some of my vintage flower pots that I like to tuck things into. The jars on top of the shelf have a crown on them and the word CROWN. I was lucky enough to find a blue one, too.
Also visiting on the shelf are some old perfume bottles, an antique dental floss container, a real bird's nest (fake eggs though), a little mirror (from Kathy Sue in Texas), old etched bottles and a little "vintage" photo of my mother and I. If you click on the images you can enlarge them. See that thermos bottle that my mother is holding? She always had that thing full of coffee! Like mother, like daughter I suppose!!!
Have a lovely week and thank you so much for visiting!
Good morning, my precious Becky! Thank you for all your sweet comments! I love your visits...
ReplyDeleteThis shelf is wonderful and everything, as always, meshes so easily!!!! FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE NOT TREATED YOURSELF TO BECKY'S FLICKR PHOTOS - RUN YOUR PATOOTIES OVER THERE RIGHT NOW AND DO SO! You won't be sorry! Lovies, Esther
That looks adorable!!! I love it. Looks like a picture from a magazine... I am going to go check out your flickr photos now. I can't wait until we are done with remodeling so I will be able to share some pics of my own.
ReplyDeleteI need to remember to pop in more often~ you have such cute pictures.
ReplyDeleteI love your shelf!! A few years ago my son was at his tutor's house and was so smitten with her water glasses that I just had to inquire. They were green glass canning jars! Well, I loved the idea so much that now we use canning jars for drinking glasses too. =) Blessings... Polly
ReplyDeleteOh, thanks Esther, I've not thought of that before. I will go look at her photos.
ReplyDeleteI love all your little jars, pots and pottery on this shelf. So simple and beautiful! And the photo of your mother and you is precious!
Happy happy Day, Becky!
Melissa
Morning Becky,

Hugs,

Oh becky, i hate to admit this but I had perhaps 6 or more of those old jars when I was in my twenties and got rid of them during a mood where I felt I needed to be more "modern" ! And, there was more that I got rid of that I can't bear to think about.....this is all the confession I can make right now :<( You have a beautiful display !!
