Textures and Romantic Homes

A few posts ago, Melissa at http://theinspiredroom.wordpress.com/ wrote about textures in her home. If you haven't viewed her Flickr album of her textures, stop by to do so. Not only are her pictures gorgeous, she writes beautifully about decorating and has wonderful ideas. Check out the mirror on her door with a wreath over it. Fantastic!

That day I got out my camera and walked around the house and captured little snippets of things that I love. Here are just a few of my favorite textures...for more, click on the Flickr album to the right.

Has everyone had the chance to read the October 2007 issue of Romantic Homes? I was so happy to see two blogging friends in this issue! Polly, at Counting Your Blessings, had her comment and a photo of her stove published in the Letter to The Editor secton!! Now once you have read this, flip over to page 18 and read the wonderful bit written by Tara Frey. Do you see the little yellow house? I was thrilled to see Kim's (Daisy Cottage) house featured as well as read about the history of her blog. Way to go girls! That was fun!

This issue of RH was by far one of my favorites. With each turn of the page, colorful and beautiful images offered so much in the way of decorating and recipes. Julie Smith's home was a sweet treat! Simple elegance with brilliant personal touches and collections. A happy house!

Two more days till the giveaway! If you haven't yet signed up, you can scroll down to the post dated 9-14 and leave a comment.

  3. I do the Dance of Joy at the mailbox at the end of our driveway when I get my copy of RH in the mail. Poor neighbors. Course, with the outfits I wear while I am at home, the police have stopped by to warn me that I could get arrested for indecent exposure/disrupting the peace. I put the blame on RH for this. Lovely photos. Lovies, Esther

  5. You are so sweet to mention my post, I am glad it inspired your lovely photos! What fun it is to look at our homes in new ways. Everything is so much more beautiful when you zero in on beauty (and avoid looking at the dirty socks in the corner, which would be just outside of many of my own photos!).

And I love that magazine too, I hadn't noticed Polly's contribution to that magazine, I will have to go back and look again!

    Thanks Becky!
