Daily Bread For Good Hearts

The sewing room has seen a little more action this week as I busied myself
making little handmade things.
I designed this little Daily Bread pillow out of leftover drop cloth fabric from my slipcovers.
A little pocket holds 30 Bible passages that I refer to as daily bread - passages that are good for our heart and soul.
After the loss of our precious Jordan, I find peace in the Word and these little pillows
are a product of finding comfort through faith.
The cards are printed on a parchment card stock.
I made more pink hearts out of vintage pink and white wool blankets, vintage buttons and super soft knitting yarn.
Soft...
Feminine.
To hang...
..or simply lay in a pretty bowl.

These will be for sale in my ETSY shop later
today.
I am just giddy!!! I was wondering why my sitemeter visits had increased all of a sudden. Well, come to find out, my slipcover tutorial is featured on TIPNUT!!!
Ohhh, I am just thrilled!! Thank you, Tipnut! Golly, I hope those
directions are good ones! ...insert nail biting here...
Blessings to you on this lovely fall day.

  4. Hi Becky
The hearts are as sweet as can be! I love that they are made out of wool. Also your daily bread hearts are such a good idea and would make the perfect gift for someone who needs some encouragement. I wish I could afford to buy some. Maybe next year if you make some more.

  5. Hi Becky~
how exciting for you to be featured. I love the hearts with scriptures tucked in. I am so sorry for your loss....it truly saddens me. As a mom, I just dont know if I could make it through but I know that the Lord hears our cry. There's a verse I love and I cant remember where its found but it refers to the Lord holding our tears in his hands. What an illustration of a loving God. Hugs & Blessings.

  7. I am always moved when I visit your blog, to see Jordan's picture on the side...it is truly your faith that sustains you. Your heart pillow is a wonderful idea, with the scripture cards...reminds me of being a child, and having a scripture box on the kitchen table...we read from it at every meal. Your pink wool hearts are so sweet...you are quite talented!

    God bless,
    Mary

  9. Becky, those pink wool hearts are one of the most charming things I've ever seen. I love your daily bread hearts, too. One of my favorite verses is 'Let the word of God dwell in you richly.' Where would we be without God's comforting Word? This was a beautiful post. Have a nice day. Twyla

  40. I recently lost my daughter Amber at the age of 29 in July. She had a form of muscular dystrophy, however her death was quite sudden.
I am going to make me a "Daily Bread for Good Hearts" pillow. I frequently need a "pick me up" during certain times of the day. No one knows the pain of losing a child until it happens. My heart is broken into a million pieces, but I do know she is walking the streets of gold in Heaven. You will have to visit my blog to read about Amber.
    Thanks for sharing the idea.
    Hugs,
    Donna
