My New Comfy Reading Chair

Before I start my post, let me say that I am having a giveaway and you must enter to win on that particular post - dated August 15th.. Just click HERE if you have not already entered. If you don't have a blog, you still can enter by leaving a comment AND your email address on that post. Because I so enjoy having a new book to read, I thought it would be fun for someone to be able to order a new book for themselves. Maybe one that has been on your wish list....sound good?
Below are some photos of my new/old comfy chair that I bought from my wonderful friend, Sandi. Sandi owns a fabulous antique store in Escalon, California called The Green Pea. You can get also read up on the adventures of Sandi, and her shop, on her blog with the same name as her shop - The Green Pea Boutique This is an old cut velvet chair that tugged at my heart strings when I first saw it. It reminds me of the flocked wallpaper that was in the home I grew up in. My mother was so proud of herself when she bought it and hung it on the wall all by herself.
Kind of hippy-dippy - but what they hey! I love it! ...and it is super comfy, too!
The morning light steams in through the windows and makes this the perfect spot to drink my coffee and grab a quick read before starting my day.
We all need places like this, don't we?

It is a kind of kick your feet up and get lost in a good book kind of a day.....
xx

I want to know how often you have to negotiate with the Scotties to get a seat in your very own chair!

LOL Holly!! Fiona is the chair monger...Dughall prefers to lay on the floor at my feet. I am finding that the female scotties are more "needy" and like to be up on your lap and kissing you.

love your chair...we had sculpted carpet in that pattern when I was a child...it so reminded me of my Mother's living room...solid, forest green carpet. I took many Sunday naps on that floor as a teenager, working on homework with my headphones on listening to albums of Boz Scaggs!

Ok, as soon as I learn to pick locks, you may get up and find me reading the morning paper and drinking my cup of tea in your new chair! Of course, Fi will be sitting with me. Think you can whip up some blueberry muffins for us! Aaaahhhhhh!!!!........

Good afternoon Becky. Oh I love your chair. My grandmother had one like it but hers was in a gray pattern. I loved that chair because like you say sooo comfy. I can imagine you sitting in your chair in the morning sipping coffee with your little ones near by. Charli sends them hugs ♥ I hope you have a lovely day.

Becky, I have a chair very similar to yours! My daughter had it in her bedroom, but then wanted to swap with one I had in the living room. And man, is it ever comfy! I love sitting in the old chair. It has short legs, so my 5'2" legs can actually touch the floor :-) Yeah!

What a perfect spot to relax and read!! I have several spots depending on the time of year- how cold I am- how much cat hair is on the one chair(Mickey definately has her favorite chair and of course it has to be the shabby chic white one!!)

I think it's a wonderful chair, not hippy dippy at all (or does that mean I'm a little hippy dippy myself?)

I remember that wallpaper! In fact I've stripped off a few rolls in a house we used to live in. I do love to read and that chair looks like a great place to do it. Mimi

It looks extra comfy and girlie, but I bet a cute Scottie curled up in it would make it look even better!

We have a chair that is similiar. I made a comfy reading spot with books, nice reading lamp...but Baby Girl our littlest dog claimed the spot. So be it! Now it is hers. I keep the latest issues of "Dog Fancy" on the ottoman for her enjoyment!
