I love to collect small things and group them together on a plate or in a bowl. It is a fun way of displaying those tiny collections and keeping them out in sight to enjoy. I use to carry the Guardian Angel piece in my car but decided that it would be pretty hanging out with the other smalls.
One of my favorites collections are old rosaries. Though I am not Catholic, I love knowing that each one has been used for prayer and they have been handled with love and meaning.
Old keys rest atop brown transfer ware butter pats.
Everything is layered and stacked on top of a silver plate cake stand.
I love the detail in the butter pat. Look at the little people! Just plain sweeeeet!
Simple. Casual. Gathered with care and love. Tiny bits that make me smile.
Love the collection of little treasures! Out where everyone can enjoy them.

The brown transferware is the perfect background for your bits and pieces. Sally
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I often run across little things around the house and in shops. They are all so much more impactful combined like that. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. It keeps the smaller pieces from getting lost in a larger tablescape.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday,

So precious, they make me smile too.
ReplyDeleteThings that make you smile around your house, through the everyday, are precious, indeed!
ReplyDeleteBecky I love your brown transferware, it makes an awesome backdrop for all your tiny things. I'm so glad you are back in blogland.
ReplyDeleteI agree that those "tiny bits" are beautiful all grouped together. Love the mix of the silver with the brown and white transferware with them too.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and LOVE it! Not only are those keys, they are railroad keys which are harder to find. Sometimes the call letters of the railroad are on the them.
