Hello everyone!
Goodness gracious, it is already March 11th and I’ve not posted at all this month. So let me make it up with a rather lengthy post here, if you will, to share with you just a smidge of loveliness over at Magpie Antiques and All Things Inspiring. I shared about Magpie HERE, so the information about the shop is somewhere in that post.
Several folks have asked how my friend, Janet (the owner of Magpie), came up with the name “Magpie” for her new store. After jotting down hundreds of ideas on a page, she decided upon “Magpie” because, after all, Magpie's collect things (oddities) for their nest. And not only are Magpies collectors of curious finds, they also like to chatter. Does this sound a little like us girls? Well, you bet it does!
This weeks photos are snippets of items to “feather our nest” with. From antique to primitive, from garden style to cottage style, there is a little of something for all. Belinda D. has her own lovely niche with gorgeous furniture painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. Her adorable room is located off of the kitchen.
So let us mingle and chatter here for a moment at Magpie….
If you have a chance to stop by sometime, there are also some great places to shop along Main Street as well. Just around the corner to Magpie is Divine Decor which offers beautiful items for your home. And if all of the shopping musters up an appetite, there are great restaurants sprinkled along Main Street as well. If your honey likes BBQ, leave him there and you go shopping! *smile* There is a gun shop (on Main) with a shooting range..not that us girls would take a fancy to that (or would you?), but maybe the husband could while away some time there plinking at paper silhouette targets. I know that most of our guys don’t like to walk around pretty stores so we have to find things they would like to do, too.
Sending hugs to my blogging friends! Till next time, take time to get your nails dirty in some dirt! The weather here in California is ggggorgeous! Time to fill some empty flower pots!
Thanks for the delightful tour. I would love to shop there.
ReplyDeleteBe sure and check out my post - Introducing Miss Begonia from last week. You'll love her!

I adore that cradle - it is so like the one I played with as a child that had rocked all of my grandmother's babies. Sadly my Aunt took it and made a flower planter out it and it rotted!!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great!!
Your post is full of wonderful, wonderful pictures. I'd say you made up for lost blogging time! Blessings-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBoy, I wish I lived closer. I'd have a blast checking all that vintage goodness out. Just lovely!Pretty nice here in Texas too. Can't wait to get outside this week.
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful spring day. This coming weekend Gary and I plan on picking weeds and planting. I tell ya we can pick weeds one day and the next they are grown back.
I loved my visit to Magpie Antiques and plan on going again soon.
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
What a fun and fabulous place to shop! Wish I were there doing just that AND enjoying that weather!
ReplyDeleteOh...What a treasure trove of vintage goodness. I am oooing and ahhhhing right now at each incredibly sweet item. I love the well worn cradle...Would you speculate that they had a very large family? The little Dutch boy and girl are cute as a button.
ReplyDeleteAnd, all those beautiful vintage linens....Be still my heart!
Thank you for sharing all about Magpie. How I wish I lived close enough to spend an afternoon browsing
Blessings, Becky!

I could do some damage there for sure. Nice things for sure. I am a little jealous of your weather right now.
ReplyDeleteSuch prettiness!! Thanks for sharing! Wishing you a beautiful week! xo Heather

Loved the tour of the shop and loved looking at all the vintage treasures. I am already playing in the dirt and we are still in the low 30's at night.... I just cannot help myself.... I am starting a garden from a blank canvas and I am going to blog about it.. I am calling it The Generation Garden. It will have some things from my grandmother and my mom and dad and my older brother Paul (I call him PE) we are partners in dirt!
ReplyDeleteSending Oklahoma Hugs.....
What a wonderful place! Becky I could do a lot of damage there. I love the thread box, the doll linen whatever it be, and heck I love it all even if I do have a lot of what you show there. I know there is plenty I don't have. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that little Dutch couple and the print beneath...LOVE!! Thanks for taking us on a tour of your fun shop!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty things!!!

So enjoying the tour of Magpie - so lovely. Love the fabric crosses that I spyed in one of the pics - wondered if you made them?
ReplyDeleteIf I were shopping there, I'd head straight for the little Dutch boy and girl and then the basket of linens. Lovely things...thank you for the tour. (Always nice to find you here!)
ReplyDeleteThe wonderful weather + the gorgeous photos... makes me wanna make a road trip and go shopping! Nice things... no wonder you haven't been blogging much... busy girl!
ReplyDeleteWell that was a lot of fun! I'd love to spend an hour or two browsing around!
ReplyDeleteIt's too early here to get my nails dirty in the dirt, we're still waiting for the snow to melt!
ReplyDeleteI have fallen in love with the little picture of the girls having tea by the fire. And the mitten and glove blocks. And the embroidered linens. And....and....and.....
I had the best time in here last week and must, must, must get back in soon.
ReplyDeleteIs it bad that I want to use those glove forms as spanking sticks?
ReplyDeleteFeel free to disapprove the above comment.
Those pictures were deeeeelightfulllll!

Definitely going to make time to go take a look next time we're in your neck of the woods. Mimi
ReplyDeleteMagpie is such a great name for the shop. So many eye-catching items--naturally the linens are my weakness. Meanwhile, I've made the most of the nice weather being productive in the garden so I know what you mean! That's the great thing about blogs--they are there whenever you get time!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely things in this store! I am glad you have nice weather. It is still cold here in central NJ. 31 today! Brrrr! doesn't feel like spring yet, but you can't tell the flowers that. they have all sprouted. A big storm is in store for the central part of the country. Rain, snow, flooding for Palm Sunday. Happy Spring!
Hugs,
Debbie
Hi! I'd like to subscribe by email. Do you have a spot on your blog?
ReplyDeleteHoly moly... that's a shopping bonanza... I so wish it weren't so darn far away. Shopping around here really stinks...
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday!
