When I am at the beach I feel a true sense of calm and a soulful connection to Mother Earth. Be it the cool breeze on my face, the sea gulls flying overhead, capturing a glimpse of a sea otter swimming on his back, the feel of the sand at my feet or the endless motion of the waves - my spirit feels best when there. I believe that this connection to the sea is why I surround myself with reminders of being next to the big pond. Ships, sea shells, pottery vases - all reminiscent of my favorite place on earth. Furniture the color of sand, vases the aqua tinge of the water and jars of shells collected here and there. I think it is all just perfectly beachy.
These photos are so beautiful and so calming and peaceful. I can understand how the beach makes you feel.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing about Andrew...he will be in my prayers.
Beautiful eye candy. I love your beach vignettes. We just painted the floor in the girls treehouse a pale aqua color. Bring on summer!!

Oh the colors of summer for sure. Love all the texture.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you've discovered just what makes you feel calm and peaceful. There is nothing like time spent at the beach walking along the shore, listening to the surf pound in with the seagulls screaking overhead. The smell, too. Now how can one bottle that and get it home?
ReplyDeleteI love the beach too...that's why I painted my rooms the color of the sand and the ceilings the grey blue color of the ocean...I can lie in bed and think of the beach!
ReplyDeleteBeachy for sure!!
ReplyDeleteLove your beach treasure..I feel the same way!
Have a great week sweet friend xo

I love the beach too and haven't been in two years. Oh how I love to sit and listen to it and smell it. I grew up living close to the beach when I was a child. Love your photos.
ReplyDeleteI love the beach too, and I never even knew it until about 10 years ago when our family started camping next to one of the Great Lakes every summer. Oh my goodness, just the sound of the waves, I could listen to them forever. We love to walk along the shore looking for treasures that have washed up. Beach glass and bits of driftwood and pretty stones. A beach is the very best way to relax on vacation I think!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty to me too...makes me feel a bit beachy too! ;D
ReplyDeleteI often tell my husband the beach is calling me..no really I feel this way. There is something so comforting to me to be at the beach. My hubbie is not much on going...we only live 2 1/2 hours away from the Gulf. I think I will twist is arm for our anniversary and do a day trip..lol
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are very calming..love them.

Your photos are beautiful and really do bring the sense of the sea to us. I love the canning jars filled with shells and the empty one in between for balance. Very nice!

Just my cup of tea! The next best thing to being at the beach is bringing the beach to me! I love the shells and the colors... I can hear the waves;)

Looks beachy to me you luck duck. It is 100 degrees here today. Lovely huh. Your pictures are always so beautiful. Think of me when you are cooling off by the beach please. :) I wish we could get "a" rain drop so I could see water. I can only imagine the connection you have with the beach. I bet it is AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteI just bought one of those vases in your first picture a few days ago. I've been trying to find cream colored pottery for my window ledge in the kitchen and decided these are just the ticket. AND they can still be found for a reasonable price. I love the various colored vases in your cupboard! The blue jars, too.
ReplyDeleteLovely beachy post. You are ready for summer!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos! I just painted my entry ceiling a pale aqua and am using lots of sea shells and other natural objects in it. Even though I live as far as you can get from an ocean (NE), I love the calming beachy look. Your white and aqua pottery (Is it McCoy or Hull?) is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs, very peaceful and serene.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors ...love it all. The story about Andrew touched...my....heart. I have a Marine.

ReplyDeleteListening to the waves crash onto the shore is so relaxing! The aroma of salty air is wonderful. Nauset Beach at Cape Cod is a fave place.
