A Heart For Jack and A Heart For You Giveaway

Have you heard of Hearts For Jack? If you have not, then please stop by my dear friend Kim’s blog, Daisy Cottage, and read about Hearts For Jack by clicking HERE.

P1010083t When I first of heard that Jack had lost his wife, Tabatha, my heart just poured out to him. I felt his pain and his loss. To lose someone you love is like taking the biggest wrench and yanking your heart out of your chest – leaving you breathless, motionless and in utter pain and agony. It literally changes you and completely rocks your world. It changes you forever – forever. You are different now. Different, yet having to live on – a different “normal” now, as many describe. We can only hold on to what they were, what they shared, how they brought sheer joy to your life – them, they…they made you whole. We now breathe for them – to share their legacy – to keep them alive in memory, in honor. But the most glorious of all things is to know that we will be with our loved one once again when we enter those wonderful gates of Heaven. Hallelujah! Glory to be to God! Ahhhhh yes! Glory!!!!!

P1010080z

So to honor Tabatha, and to partake in Hearts For Jack, I made this little heart to send to Jack. Because Tabatha loved to visit Daisy Cottage (like so many of us do) – I made it to represent the colors of Daisy Cottage. Happy and joyful color! I added a little black scottie dog – to hopefully bring a smile to Jack’s face. Whenever we have our dogs out in public, it seems that they always bring a smile to people’s faces. They are, after all, so cute and jaunty in their little way.

P1010081c1

And in honor of YOU and for ALL of the sweet happy birthday wishes that were given to our little Duhgall Piper on his birthday, I made an extra heart to giveaway. Duhgall would like to thank all of you who left him such sweet birthday wishes (he was smitten with the love shared). If a little black scottie dog could turn red and blush, Duhgall would have. He sat on my settee in my room as I read the comments left for him. I cannot begin to tell you how intent he became – as if he understood all of the love given to him. Thank you, thank you!

P1010085z

So here is how this works…..

If you would like to be entered to win the little heart pillow – or even use as a pin-cushion, just leave a comment on this post.

But wait……………there’s more! If you have left a comment for Duhgall on his birthday, you will be entered to win two times. ***You have to enter a comment though on this post to be entered to win. ****

But wait……………there’s more! If you made a Heart For Jack, then you will be entered to win three times. Now how am I going to keep track of this? Well, simply let me know, by a comment, if you wished Doogie a happy birthday and if you made a heart for Jack. I will pick the winner on Monday, March 22nd. If you are an "annonymous" comment leaver, you will need to leave your email address, too. That way I have a way of contacting you should you win. :-)

Till then, have a lovely, lovely weekend!!

If you don't have a way of leaving a comment, then you can email me at sweetcottagedreams1@comcast.net to enter to win.

  3. What a wonderful post....I lost both of my parents 14 months apart when I was in my mid 20's and the way you describe that pain was right on....and 29 years later it is a less intense hurt but still there, you are right you are never the same person again. I feel for Jack, and you, and me, and anyone else who has lost a loved one. Knowing that I will be with them, and all of the people I have loved and lost is the reason I was able to move forward all those years ago... Thank you for making him that sweet sweet heart. And I would love to have one too! So please enter my name in the drawing, and yes, I sent Dugs a happy birthday post! Take care....

  6. Becky, your heart for Jack is just as sweet and precious as I would expect from you. Our hearts all go out to Jack. I made a heart for Jack and posted a picture of it on my blog last month. Mine has a scottie on it too. Although I have a yorkie now (Bentley), my very first dog was a scottie named Bonnie. I had her from age 5 to age 17. All these years later, I still miss her.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
    Love,

  17. Hi Becky I think your heart is adorable just like your blog. I know what you mean about being left here to go on. Everytime someone passes away it's they're family that I feel so bad for. The one gone is in a better place but oh' how we suffer in missing them. I love you post. Please add my name to your giveaway.

    Have a blessed weekend. Hugs...Tracy :)

  21. Becky: The hearts are delightful. I know Jack will be comforted by the outpouring of love contained in the hearts from Daisy Cottage. I cried when I read about Tabatha as I did when I read about your wonderful son Jordan. I feel a pang of sorrow every time I visit your blog and see his handsome face, but then I read your brave and cheery words and delight in your pictures and am inspired not only by your creativity and sweetness but your strength as well. It would be an honor to have a heart from Becky in my home. Have a wonderful weekend and am wishing your handsome Doogie a belated happy birthday! Chris M

  23. amazing heart Becky...well done, a scottie dog is not an easy thing to do in thread!
I wished mr D a happy Barkday, and the Bob sends his love, and is quite jealous he cannot be there to run around the yard and play with those two lovely scotties.

If only, i would love to see it...not many scottie pals in England ;(

    Have a lovely weekend

  31. Hi Becky! I am in awe of that sweet little heart...so adorable, as is your little Doogie, and yes, I wished him a happy birthday, that jaunty little fellow! (And so appropriate, a SCOTTY on St. Patty's day!! How lucky for you!)

I have to say that I've been in awe of your strength and courage in the face of the same thing Jack has faced...I know your heart will go with this little pillow and that you will not forget him. Such a wonderful thing that Kim is doing and I cannot imagine what good these hearts will do for Jack's REAL heart....

  32. The heart that you made for Jack is so bright and colorful, just like the Daisy Cottage that we love. So many cottage people love their monochromatic white (which is beautiful!), but I NEED color, and lots of it. You and Kim are like kindred spirits to me. You both inspire me so much! Both for your bright and colorful homes that you have created and for your sweet tender hearts. Thanks for sending your heart to Jack. I know he will treasure it, along with all the other hearts that have reached out to him.

  39. Oh that is the sweetest heart and it does look as if it belongs to Daisy Cottage. Yes, I'd love to be entered and I did wish your darling little fellow a happy birthday and now I'll give you a little rhyme I found about scotties today by E.B. White:

    The Scotty's a stoic,
    He's gay and he's mad;
His pace is a small trot,
    His harness is plaid.
    I once had a *itch,
    Semi-invalid, crazy:
There ne'er was a Scotch girl
    Quite like Daisy.
    ~from "Fashions In Dogs"

Good for a grin, I hope.

This thing that Kim is doing for Jack is so generous and thoughtful. How cool that you are participating...

  66. Well if this doesn't remind me of the "where grace abounds" passage in II Cor 9:8 I don't know what would. I visit Daisy Cottage and the adventures of Miss Maggie. We dog peeps that like cottage living would follow her too. I haven't had time to send a Heart to Jack, but that will be on my list this week. I hope his heart is filled to overflowing and that God will bless his life in a way that only God can.

I did send the little Scot a birthday wish so please enter me in the drawing for that too.

Thanks little Becky for all you do.
