I love the newness and rejuvination.
Birds.
Butterflies.
Fresh air.
Flowers blooming.
I added some spring accents to the garden window. A little bird's nest, an iron bird, old tole tray, an antique doorstop and my favorite cast iron urn hang out there for now.
What is your favorite season?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
He placed me in a little cage,
Away from gardens fair;
But I must sing the sweetest songs
Because he placed me there.
Not beat my wings against the cage
If it's my Maker's will,
But raise my voice to heaven's gate
And sing the louder still!
~~~~~~Streams In The Desert, March 23rd, 2009
I love spring too, but I think fall is my favorite month. This fall, Oct will be difficult, as it will mark the one year loss of my beloved husband. I know though, that he would want me to enjoy it, and he will be helping God to paint it especially beautiful for me this year. I think of you often, and for your own recent loss, and I pray you will have a lovely spring. ♥
ReplyDeletei love spring the best...to breathe in deeply the cool fresh air...to see everything come back to life. it makes me happy beyond words---
ReplyDeletewishing you a wonderful spring, dear friend.
chasity
What a beautiful tray...and the sweet iron birdie is perfect there! I seem to have a thing for those white iron critters. I don't have many yet, but love all the ones I see.
ReplyDeleteBlessings- LillySue
lovin' your vintage doorstop...
ReplyDeleteold things speak to me in such a special way...i love sharing the past and imagining where they came from
thanks for sharing the streams poem... :)
I love Spring. There's nothing like the smell of fresh cut grass. Listening to the birds singing in the mornings, and planting new flowers and watching them bloom.
ReplyDeleteSpring is lovely, it is hard to choose a favorite but I do like the sense of renewal spring provides.
ReplyDeleteBeing an Air Force family I think of you and your beautiful son often.
Wishing you a warm, sun filled spring day.
Dear Becky,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment.
I love all of the seasons, but I'd have to say that spring is probably my favorite, when everything starts turning green!
Becky, Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year. I do love spring when everything is just peeping out to see if its warm enough to open up their beautiful petals. Your display is so nice. I love your birdie . I love watching the birds and squirrells outside too. I feed them all and Maggie just loves chasing them away.
ReplyDeleteTake care, dear friend,
Jean in virginia
Your poem was so uplifting. I have never heard that one, but think I will need a plaque on my wall to remember that one. As much as I love spring, I love fall even more. The colors and the crispness in the air. Starting up the fireplace for the first time. Maybe it is also a little bit because I know I can rest from the garden for a bit. Spring is always so wonderful after a long, cold winter. I love the flowering trees.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love that Streams selection, too. Spring is my second favorite season with autumn being my first.
ReplyDeleteI love your Spring Vignette. My favorite is Autumn.
ReplyDeleteRoberta Anne
Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are fall and spring!. Summer is just to hot for me, I wimp out. I do love planting new flowers and having the family over for B,Q's. Your "Bits O' Spring" are a perfect touch.
Enjoy your day,
Elizabeth
...I'm a Autumn girl! 100%
ReplyDeleteThen spring!!
Have a Lovely Day Pretty Lady!

Becky, this is a most beautiful post. The verses from Springs compliment the beautiful vignette you created. Be still in your nest, dear Becky, and let God care for you. You will have great things to share with us.
ReplyDeleteLove you to pieces,
Lallee
Love your vintage doorstop and tray! I love all of the seasons. The only one I get tired of is winter, right towards the end.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
Becky, I have grown to love spring, especially April! It seems like that is when the grass and trees are at their greenest (April green as one friend likes to say).
ReplyDeleteIn fitting with your Bits O' Spring" post, I wanted to share with you that I finally got the cottage picture posted on my blog.
While not nearly as grandiose as the beautiful homes that you photographed in early March, I think you will agree that it could be a magical place in the eyes of an eight-year old!
Many blessings to you from Kansas,
Valerie
I would have to choose winter. Thanksgiving, Christmas and the anticipation for a little snow here in the south.
ReplyDeleteMy skin is supersensitive to sunlight and it causes me so many problems in the spring and summer. So winter is IT for me!
Don't you just love Streams In The Desert?!? Thanks for sharing beauty today...
I always look forward to Spring but Fall is my favorite season. Especially Indian Summer! I love being at the lake (Bass Lake)when everything is becoming still and peaceful after the summer fun. It's also a chance to plant bulbs for next year and Winter Pansies.
ReplyDeleteI Love Spring! I Love Fall! Not so much winter and summer. Too hot and too cold!
ReplyDeleteIF I could make myself choose a favorite season..it would be Autumn Leaves, but each season to me is ...special for it's own reasons. Spring for it's newness of life, Summer for the pure joy of being outside, at the beach or on a picnic, and Autumn because of my Love and my memory of him taking my hand and leading out to dance with him to that song. Winter..and Winter...for it's stillness and softness and bluster...I love them all, Becky. Maybe it's my age..who knows..but I fall more in love with life every day.
ReplyDeleteTHIS WAS A BEAUTIFUL POST.I LOVE YOUR BLOG SO MUCH.HOPE YOU HAVE A BLESSED EVENING!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to say which season is my favorite, but I do love spring and the beautiful flowers. There is something special about spring and the newness it brings with grass growing, birds singing, new life, flowers blooming, springtime romance, etc. Easter is an important time too, when we reflect on Jesus and his sacrifice for us. Praying for you! Love & blessings from NC!
ReplyDeleteBecky,
ReplyDeleteYour poem was so sweet, I had to read it over a few times! And your vignette is precious, who would think of using a doorstop in a garden window! Very cute!
I just love all the seasons. Each one is so different here in the Midwest. It's refreshing when they change.
xoxo

Pretty things Becky. Spring is my favorite time of year too. I feel so much better with the promise of Spring and the sunshine coming back:>)I have the next two days off school (yay!) so I plan to finally do a little spring fluffing of my own!
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo.....
ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favorite season. I love the crisp refreshing air that returns after the heat of summer.
But, all seasons have their own beauty, and spring certainly feels full of promise, hope and renewal.
~Becca~
Your little vignette looks so sweet! I think my favorite season is a tie between fall and winter, I just love the festivity, colors, and "homeyness" that that time of year brings. But after looking at every ones beautiful Spring pictures I'm really starting to grow on it also.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Allison
Spring is my favorite time of year, also. The promise of new beginnings! As you know, I love to work in the yard and I love all the spring flowers. Lilacs, dogwood, tulips, daffodils. I've been working this year - still lots to do- but it's looking better. I guess it's because I have a little Scotty helper this time.
ReplyDeleteI love the urn!!!! It can be changed out for different holidays. You have such a way with decorating! You can come over and rearrange my stuff any time!
I do so love Spring but must admit that Fall is my favorite time of year. Maybe it is that Summer's heat takes so much out of me that I always spend a portion of Spring NOT looking forward to Summer! I know, I know...silly!
ReplyDeleteThat tray you have is SO pretty! I love the flower basket door stop. I have one like it, in different colors, that was my Great Grandmother's. I is still serving door duty here at Rabbit Run! i LOVE it but then, so does our cat Henry! he is always knocking it down for some reason! *laugh*
Love to you,
Sue
I love that antique floral door stop. It's such a wonderful piece. When I lived in California, my favorite season was fall, but now that I'm in Texas, it's definitely spring, with fall as close 2nd. Winter is nice. BUT summer...not a fav of mine here. It can be quite "warm."
ReplyDeleteLOL
Patricia
I love spring, but I have to admit my favorite season is fall... I love the color changes, the weather changes, the changes in our pace from the busy summers!!
ReplyDeleteIsabel
Lovely pot.. I love spring, with all its flowers and the scent of budding leaves..
ReplyDeleteYour tole tray is delicious! I LOVE it.....I have loads of them, but none are white.
ReplyDeleteI'm soooo sorry about the loss of your precious son.
I'm sending you a million virtual hugs and loads of blessings......
Warmly,
Spencer
This is what I will be doing this weekend. Springing it up!
ReplyDeleteHow appropriate is that poem!?
Beautiful!
Have a blessed week!
~Liz
Loida linked me to your blog, and I am so glad that she did. It is just so lovely!! What a beautiful spring time poem. I think we are all anxious to the season to start, for winter to step aside finally. I like the autumn, but have to admit that summer is my favorite time of year! There is a foot-loose and fancy-free feel about summer! fond regards fromf Germany, Debby
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago a dear friend gave me that daily devotional. I began to make notes next to the dates of things that happened on particular days....friends passing, birthdays, events, etc. I use the same devotional every year and as I look back now, some of the birthdays I noted are of friends in heaven now, etc. I am reminded to pray for friends as I see events on those days and it has become a small "journal" of events in my life. Are you not continually amazed by God's Grace? I know many friends continue to pray for you....

Hands down and hands in the dirt, it has to be summer. Digging in my garden, my dog by my side, a kitten in the window meowing at me to come back inside...nothing beats early summer mornings in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI like spring too, but I just wish we had some warm weather to go along with it. We had snow last weekend. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteWe got 10 little chicks yesterday...looks like Easter here.
Ginger
Becky, as you might quess, I'm an autumn gal, But I cherish spring because it is Gods way of annually reasuring us of our promised resurection. Things seemly dead and gone are born again, anew and perfect. I'm sure this promise is, especially now, very dear to your heart. Wave
ReplyDeleteBecky,
ReplyDeleteI've just read several of your postings and am sorry to read of Jordan's passing...
A verse that has always meant so much to my husband and me is First Peter 5:7..."Casting your all your care upon Him, for He careth for you"...
Blessings to you and your family...
Betty @ Country Charm
This is my favorite time of year too! I love when all the flowers start blooming and it is just the right temp for long walks.
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you're coming down for the Clovis antique show this weekend Becky!
Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI love Spring, but my very favorite is Fall.
I love your bits of Spring.
Rosemary
Beautiful! I am so encouraged to see your sweet posts!
ReplyDeleteFor myself I look forward to the Summer months, with warm temperatures, sunny skies and long days. Spring is the best time in my garden, although Summer and Autumn are rather lovely too! x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo, I love Autumn the most...but I'm always ready for the seasons to change that's one good thing about having 4 seasons I suppose!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you Sweetie

I recognized this poem as I too just read it. You must be reading the same little book as I ~ what great comfort I find each day in the pages of this precious book!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite season is the autumn, but spring comes a close second.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Kate
Such a pretty display. I do enjoy spring, but fall is my fave!
ReplyDelete-c
It all looks so pretty! I have two of the four vases you have there and one of them came from my Nana. I love Spring and Fall, they both give you that special feeling in the air (;
ReplyDeleteHugs~Kelly
I read Streams in the Desert every day. I love it! Every day the message is perfectly suited to what I am going through at the time. I'm glad to see you've found comfort in it too!
