The squirrel is very similar to this sweet little blue scotty planter that my dear friend, Miss Jean, gave to me awhile back. She bought a pink and blue one, and of course she kept the PINK one for herself. :) You should see her collection of PINK scotty dog pottery pieces!!
I am slowly but surely incorporating more reds into the guest bedroom. I will share more of this with you later. The lampshade is a recent find at Target. One of my favorite fabrics is red ticking stripes, so you can imagine my joy when I found the shade. What do you think of the idea of hanging vintage crocheted pot holders on it? A little texture doesn't hurt a lampshade now does it.
One more day left to enter the giveaway. The latest to sign up is by midnight on 7-31-08 and the winners will be selected and announced some time on 8-1-08.
ta ta for now.....

I love those old potholders but never could think of a good use for them. Hanging one on the lampshade would be a great way to display it.
I just love to move things around, your cabinet looks so sweet! I have to tell you, I had a Scottie when I was a little girl, her name was Whiskey,I can still remeber when we went to the pet store to get a puppy, she followed us with her eyes from the cage, all around the store and I said I want that one, she loves us already. I loved that dog, she would let me put dresses and diapers on her and I would push her around in a baby carriage! Poor thing! Just thought I would tell you about her cause everytime I look at your blog I think of her.
Hugs~Kelly
I haven't seen that Scottie in blue before. What a pretty shade of blue. I have the green version, and one of the cart Scotties. Your new finds are adorable and fit right in. The new lampshade is great. I'm on the lookout for a different lamp for my studio. Red scores again! LOL
Okay- I just have to say that the Scotties that live in that little shelf are ADORABLE!!!
(P.S. I love your hair-in your picture.)
Hi Becky,no matter where you place your things, they are so sweet looking. You just have a nak for making things pretty. I love your little doll sitting in her sweet vintage lawn chair. It's fun moving things around, isn't it? Kind'a like playing house...
Blessings,Shelley
Hi Becky,
I saw that lampshade at Target. In fact I may go and buy the navy one. You are definitely a red girl!!! I shouldn't have painted the wheels on that scotty pull, they were red....oops!!! You could paint them back.
Hugs,
LeAnn:)
One of my biggest pastimes is moving things around. Jos jokes that he checks the blog before coming home so he doesn't trip over things. LOL! There is nothing that makes a house feel new again than rehousing the details that make it a home.
Hugs and kitty kisses ~

love what you do with the potholders and things....will go dig some out of my drawers and boxes! Keep the ideas flowing.
Love the cabinet!!
I always move things around!!
It's like getting new things.
Have a great day!

It's so nice to know that I am not alone in my obsession with moving things around. The cabinet is precious! I love the blue Scottie planter too!
The little cabinet and the treasures look wonderful. I have the lady planter, and one of the scotties. Planters are one of my favorite collections. Its amazing how many different old planters and flowerpots were made. Moving things around gives everything a new look. You have a great day.

What a gorgeous little cabinet!
I love all your goodies too ;-)
I'll soon be moving things around after this remodel (see blog!) and then REALLY confuse everyone who visits!! They already can't absorb all I have from looking around the house, sweet cottage chickadee!! Now they'll really go off their rocker, but I'm lovin' it all!! Wooohoooooo........
Smoochies,
Connie
Yes, your little cabinet is darling and love the treasures inside :) That give me the bug to move a few things aroung instead of buying at garage sales...naaa, I think I'll do both. Warmly, Deb
I would LOVE to be bored!!!!! You lucky duck. I love the little cabinet and, of course, the Scots!
I'm so glad you liked my bag! It took a couple of weeks, working on it a 2 or 3 hours at night. It was a lot of fun to do! I like the idea of hanging your vintage potholders on the lampshade. And I love your pottery collection! It's so sweet!
Have a wonderful night!

Hello Ms. Becky! Love your putzing around...inspiring. I have been eyeing that same ticking shade at Target. I think the potholders on the shade would be cool! Happy Thursday! cherry
What neat little treasures you have! I bet I could spend all day admiring your special finds.
Thanks for sharing!
OHHHHH I LOVE that green cabinet - way cute and I also love that little squirrl vase, oh and the bunny vase to - those could all come live at the farmhouse, LOL.

Gurrrrl, love me some red ticking! It's my fav! And yeah, I think potholders would be cute on that little shade! Post a pic when you do please? And I love to move things, I don't do it so much here at the house, since I do it so much at work...but it is fun isn't it?

Becky,
Can you come decorate my house for me? I'm really close by. Just make a right turn at the bottom of your street and go 1300 miles East on Hwy 10. It's only a 21 hour drive.... LOL
Patricia :o)
I love red and white ticking anything! I'm going to have to look at our Target. Did you wallpaper the back of that cabinet? It is darling!
Brenda
Forgot something. I think the potholders would be quite cute. And maybe some red buttons hot-glued to the edges...
Brenda
Thank you, Brenda, for your idea for the buttons - sounds fabulous!! The cabinet came with the wallpaper already in it. I do believe it is the old stuff, too.
Thank you for your kind words!!

I love "changing up" my rooms every few months. Moving things round and adding a new bit or two. Mama bird a nesting. One of the divine features of being made a woman.
