I love the afternoon light and how it makes this little guest room bright and cheerful. Come on in....take a little peek....
A wall of my favorite samplers greet you as you enter...
....I love changing out the pillows on the bed. Sometimes they are all pink, other times all blue and now pink and blue. My little felt heart from Karen hangs from a corner of one of my pennant banners that I made. I have a few pink ones for sale here.
...Across the room is a favorite cabinet full of fabrics to use....well, someday....
....Ever in Brownies? I was and we would sing the song ..."make new friends, keep the old, one is silver and the other gold...." When I found this sampler I had to have it for the memories and also for those wonderful bluebirds....
The sampler above is a sweet piece that I bought from my friend Shirley. She has the wonderful Hansel and Gretel home with the match-stick fence on my post here.....
Her home is filled with delightful pretties and she has the very best garage sales!
You can find old samplers on eBay, flea markets or thrift stores. They can be made into wonderful pillows are even incorporate them into a quilt. I love the nostalgia of the pieces and the sweet sentiments of the words.

It was the first time you shared a photo of these samplers that I was inspired to buy a series of sayings sampler to stitch up. I hope to start them one day soon. Now seeing them on the wall all together like this, well what a picture! You guest room is a delight! What a wonderful idea to switch the pillows regularly. I might borrow this idea. I think it all look so cozy and any guest would want to stay forever. I do, of course, have heart palpatations at seeing the fabric stash cupboard. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a fabulous time with DS home? Is he off again somewhere soon? Hope it will be closer to home now.

Wonderful job of decorating Becky. I especially like the grouping of samplers. I was a brownie until I realized that Brownies are malicious elves. Then I quit and rid myself of those losers, er, um, silver friends.
ReplyDeleteThe room is pure bliss and a wonderful place to take a midday nap.
