Ahh...What To Do!?

Have you ever bought something and then had a hard time deciding if you should sell it or not? This is my dilemma. Here is a Victorian Religious Motto that is so sweet and I grabbed it yesterday at an Estate Sale. It wasn't inexpensive and by no stretch of the phrase "a good buy." I love the old frame, the verse and most of all the bird and red berries.
So I ask you, should I keep it or sell it? Is that your final answer?

  2. Hi Becky! Keep it until you are ready to let it go , and then sell it! Who says you have to sell it right away? It will only get more vintage;>)

  3. If you enjoy it, have space for it and don't need the money then I'd say keep it and when you no longer are enjoying it then sell it.

  7. Good advice from everyone!! I usually tell my friends in this dilemma, "if you don't love it, don't get it, keep it or buy it". I have to love it, I mean LOVE. I know that shaky kinda love feeling I get. That's when I know I'm going to load something into my car! You'd probably better follow everyone else's advice. I'd hate to take responsibility for this one. Although I could see myself packing this one to my car!!!!

  9. What a sweet find that was! When my BFF asks me this I always say: "Look at it and tell me what you feel deep inside your heart? Are you in love with this? How would you feel if you saw it in someone elses hands, or house? Would you feel regret?"... Then depending on her answer she can either let go or keep it with a happy heart! Bless you this week, Donna Lynn

  14. Hi Becky,
Thanks for the nice comments on my blog. I wish you could come shop with us too!!
I love the sign, keep it for awhile, then sell it if it's something you can part with.
I change things around a lot in my home.
Have a great day, and I will be posting my flea market purchases today or tomorrow.

  15. Oh I have that problem all the time! About 60% of what I buy for resale ends up staying in my house because I fell in love with it!!
That really is a lovely piece....enjoy it for a while..then decide if you can part with it!
    hugs,
    Robin

  18. I say keep it for at least a little while so then if you decide to sell it, you can be confident with your decision. It really is very sweet. Since it has the holly and berries on it, it would be beautiful hanging out for Christmas too.

  25. Oh you keep it....... yes of course you keep it...... that is beautiful and I can just see it sitting on top of an old dresser with a lace runner..... as much as I would love to see you sell it and me buy it ,,,,,,,, it has found a home there......

  26. Okay, this is comment #26 so maybe you should go with the above majority... but I get lots of things I love, love, love. If it is something as big as that, I usually have to get rid of something to display it... So, I think about what would I have to sell, and then I would also need to redecorate...but it is kinda Christmasy with the holly...so that is a whole other issue... Do I sound kinda wishey washey?
At least you should keep it until Christmas time.
    JOY!

  28. If you are not sure.. sleep on it!
I am having the same dilemma's here at home..
I feel liberated letting things go and then some years later I will think ..."now where is that mirror I once had"...
You could always toss a coin!

    Much love

  29. What a lovely piece--personally, I would keep it! It has all the things I love--it's vintage, it's got birds, it has a good message. You can always keep it for a while and see if you can bear to part with it down the road sometime, it will only get more valuable! lol

  33. It is so sweet... I would say keep it. Although, I'm sure it would sell in an instant. If you ever need quick money- you will have the answer.

  34. Hi, I think you should keep it and enjoy it for now if you really love it. In the future, if and when you tire of it, then let someone else have the pleasure of it.

  36. Dearest Beckers ~ that is an absolute treasure. It is absolutely stunning ~ I too, have a hard time with the "catch & release", and lots of times, keep it for awhile, til I'm ready to let it find a good home. . . . THAT BEAUTY, however, might just possibly be a permanent keeper to me . . . . . . . can't wait to hear what you decide . . . .

  37. I think that is only something you can answer. Here is how I gauge when to sell something, if I really can't decide then I probably will sell it because I would know right away if I didn't want to. Hope that helps.

    Hugs,
    LeAnn :)

  38. I agree with Ms. Jean, when in doubt, Hang On To It. Finding something victorian era in a white frame is very unusual and with those holly leaves and berries, you'll be able to use it in a sweet vignette at Christmastime.

  41. I say keep it and let go of something you would enjoy less....but only if you must. That is a treasure.
