With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided to add some hearts here and there to our home. This pretty handmade heart was made by Kathy, at Kathy's Cottage. I always love to buy things that others have created and just had to have one of Kathy's adorable hearts. She embellished the heart with a vintage rhinestone pin, a handmade "Forever" charm and a sweet black gingham ribbon. I just love it!
Kathy's heart is displayed on our hall tree in our entry hall. On the hall tree is another favorite old Valentine card - a little boy running with a Scotty.
I tied on this vintage crocheted heart to a side of an old basket. For more detail I tied on an old piece of floral trim and pinned on an old rhinestone button.
Old valentines are some of my favorite things to collect. I keep this one out all year because it is just so sweet. The funny thing is, is that I remember these "vintage" Valentine boxes when I was a little girl. Sure wish I'd kept all of them!
Another crocheted heart that sits inside a little creamer.
Yesterday I received a parcel in the mail from sweet Michelle over at Cowboys and Custard. Michelle knows that I love Scottys and made these two adorable button cards with noneother than little Duhgalls on them. The little card with the girl and the cat is just precious and I will find a frame for it. Thank you, Miss Michelle! I just love these cards!
Michelle's cards are beautiful and are a sure treat to the lucky recipient of one, two, three......Stop by her blog sometime for a sweet treat!

Lovely stuff the cards are great and so many hearts!!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky! I too remember all my Valentine's from when I was young and wish I had kept some. It was a treat each year to pick them out and we used to make little mailboxes which we took to school and sat on the windowsill. The teacher would let us put our Valentine's in each other's mailboxes. I loved that!
ReplyDeleteYour hearts look wonderful. I have a Valentine's tree for the first time this year. My mother made me three crochet hearts for it and she found two of my old Valentine's cards which she had saved and brought them to me. One was from my grandmother and you can see where she taped a quarter into the card. Those were the days when getting a quarter was a treat!
