A Favorite Old Picture

When it comes to old pictures, especially those with children AND in victorian criss cross frames, I just cannot resist myself. This sweet old picture is of Red Riding Hood who is apparently trying to convince the Big Bad Wolf to let her walk on the path. The frame is just as sweet and very old fashioned. Although I did not find my picture on eBay, you can find them there if you look under antique print and the subject. For the frames you can enter Victorian Criss Cross Frames, Adirondack Frames, Eastlake Frames, Crisscross Frames or Tramp Art. You just never know what you may find on eBay!

  8. I love your pretty vintage pic. and frame. You are right....Ebay is a treasure trove of goodies if you are able to spend the time. i've bought some fabulous pieces for almost nothing. Case in point is an antique sign I bought about 3 yrs ago. It is one of the most beautiful old signs and, for some reason, was located where it wasn't viewed. I ended up being the only bidder and got it for less than postage!

  15. Hi Becky,
Your little Victorian print is so nostalgic - it looks lovely in the vignette that you have created....although I can't help but think your sheep looks a little worried about the wolf being so close! hehe.

Loved the post below too - that sunbathing dog is so funny.
    Have a great day, Niki

  20. Hi Becky,
Thank you so much for the kind words,it helps to know that we are not just floating alone out here in cyberspace. It is always validating for people to appreciate your creativity and the 'things' you do. But when it comes right down to it, we need to know that these are the times that people really 'get' us..
Also, my son always tells me he wants a dog and a girlfriend for a Christmas gift, his bday is coming... I'll show him the picture..;)
    JOY!

  22. That picture is great. Heidi used to come to our front door and ring the bell and tell me she was Little Red Riding Hood. She would love this picture.

  23. Oh! I love this picture! I used to play a game with my mother when I was a little girl. I would ring the front doorbell and be a different person each time. My very favorite and the one I ALWAYS started with was Little Red Riding Hood. My mother patiently answered the door no matter how many times I would ring that bell. There is a photo of me at the age I did that on my CelebrateTheSeasons blog today. :)
