If you haven't already seen this movie, check it out. It is a sweet love story that will have you laughing and also grieving at the same time. No more details, just go treat yourself - oh, don't forget the buttered popcorn, too!
Awhile back, I was tagged by Crazy Haberdasher to list five random things about myself. Ahh, what to write without making my blogging friends fall asleep and injure their chin on the keyboard? Ok..bare with me...go get some coffee to stay awake - I promise to keep it short.
1. I was in love with Ringo Starr at age 5...that was 1965 to be exact.
2. Per my hair dresser, I am over 50 percent gray. Thank God for hair dye!
3. When I was 6 I let out the neighbor's caged geese. I ran down the street afterwards. One of the geese flew over my head and did a number 2 (huge doo-doo) on my head. I had to tell my mom the truth, as she cut off my shirt.
4. I refuse to eat liver and onions. Shudder! yack!
5. I want to win a huge sack of cash so I can live by the beach!
Now to tag friends....drumming my fingers...who to chose?
Rosemary, Rose Petite Maison
Stephanie, The Heart of Hartman (a new blogger - stop by to visit her!)
Shelley - Shelley's Vintage Variety
Michelle - Cowboys and Custard
Kath - Beeswax
Last week we had some sunny moments. I snapped this photo of our weathervane that sits atop our home. My husband bought it for our home years ago at a lovely nautical shop in Carmel, CA. It fits the style of our home and my honey also loves to sail.
Remember this picture here? This lovely old picture is from my good friend Marcia's shop. She is home now and hangs in our entry hall to greet all who enter. I just love the muted colors of this old piece and the little basket of fruit that she is holding.
Ok, Michele, over at Cowboys and Custard, asked me who Billy is. I wanted you to use your Billy Mays voice when I was writing, "But wait, there's more!" Those of you who reside in the USA most likely know Mr. Mays, but for those international friends, he is a very persuasive guy who does the Oxy Clean commercials, as well as some other info-mercials. Personally, I find him rather abrasive with over tinted hair. Oh behave, Becky!
Have a lovely new week!!

Hi Becky: O my gosh I was in love with Ringo Starr when I was five in 1965 everyone else loved Paul but not me I love Ringo...but as far as gray hair I think gray hair is beautiful( but I am also to much of a cheapo to pay to have it profesionally done and I am to scard to do it myself).I am glad to see that there is another liver hater out there I have a funny story about liver I will have to do a post about that soon.
ReplyDeleteI love to read your blogg you have brought me out of the winter blahhs
Love Brenda ox
Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteI'm cracking up over the Billy May reference...I'm still convinced that Orange Glo will work miracles ;)
Hugs,
Dena
OMG, Becky, do you have a cedar shake roof? I LOVE them! Yeah, I have the same reaction to Billy Mays but, like Dena, I'm totally convinced that Orange Glo works wonders! :)
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Mary
Too Funny with the Billy Mays voice.
ReplyDeleteI love how he always says his name like we are all supposed to know who he is. Also thank you for the nice comments on my blog the other day. They were greatly appreciated.
Take Care,
Tracy M.
Hello! No I couldn't eat liver and onions either! Love those sunny photos, so nice to see blue sky. As for grey hair, well I'm developing a nice Cruela De Ville style streak at the front at the moment! I noticed that you bought the box frame from Michele that I had my eye on, it is very cute, love the dog!
ReplyDeleteKimx
Another liver detester here! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your picture of the girl. I think she is so pretty and love the New England portrait look of her. Very English manor house style. The weathervane looks so perfect on your home.
I need to complete this tag also. Life is so busy right now that I have not done as much blogging as I should. I am redoing some chairs this week and they are coming up so nicely which is great fun.
Give Doogs a cuddle for me!
Hugs ~

I gave up hair dye 6 months ago. I have left over color in small patches now~almost gone!
ReplyDeleteI don't like Billy's voice either, but thank you for reminding me I am out of Oxyclean.
The weather vane looks fab on your roof, and I'm so glad that little girl decided to come live at your house. She made a good choice ;-)
Hugs,
Lallee
Idon't like liver either and I am very amused by Billy's latest. The epoxy you knead in your hands and it can pull an 18 wheeler or some such garbage. Who believes (or more importantly) buys this stuff??
ReplyDeleteJanet
Thanks for that Becky!
ReplyDelete....cheers, Marian :)
Hi Becky,
ReplyDeleteLoved your list. Especially the part about the bag of cash to live at the beach. That is one of my dreams too! No wonder I like you so much.
Huge hugs,
Lisa
Ha! Ha! You sound like me when I was a kid!!I discovered a photo of me in a harness and my brothers were wild??! My first arrest I must have been 5 maybe younger...I threw this guys firewood down the Assabet River...weeee! The cops came and drove me home ..I was in back seat messing my pants!
ReplyDeleteAnyway thank you for feedback on my 'Cherub 'Wish' Jar..I am posting on my ebay!
Thanks for tagging me, I did it and it was fun !!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day :)
I love this blog! I have a quick question for you...
ReplyDeleteDo you have a name for the kind of pyrancantha you have planted by your front entry? I want one! The color of the berries is exactly what I want.
Blessings to you!
Thanks for the info! I so enjoy your photos.
ReplyDeleteGreat things about you! I share a birthday with Ringo, I would also like to win a big sack of money, I had my hair done (dyed and highlighted) today, I also hate liver, and I have never had anything to do with geese. For some reason these made me giggle. Susan
ReplyDeleteYa killed me on this post, Darlin! Goose poop fallout? Hilarious! Hey, after 20 years of coloring my hair I stopped and I am 51 1/2% gray. I dare ya to stop - I double dare ya! Love ya!!! Esther
ReplyDeleteI was 13 in 1965 and in love with Paul McCartney. I'm less than 25% gray and don't color my hair.
ReplyDeleteThe story about the goose made me LOL.
I totally ditto 4 and 5.

ReplyDeleteI have had grey hair since the age of 16, it looked cool then(I was a bit of a goth then!)now, well its time consuming!
Love the weather vane and that painting of the little girl is so divine.
LOL ladies! Glad to hear I am not alone in the world with having gray hair! Dad is solid white! Esther, sorry hun, I love my hair dye too much! I can hear Carly Simon singing You're So Vain right about now! ha!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for leaving comments! You always put a smile on my face and make me giggle!!!

Becky
I am over 50 percent gray too!! And it's been a while since hair dye! - - maybe this weekend I'll do something about that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I too refuse to eat liver and onions. Shudder! yack! - is right!
My parents love the dish (they used to try to make me eat it..no luck whatsoever.. and I refuse to make my kids eat things they absolutely hate).
AND - me too me too - want to win a huge sack of cash so I can live by the beach! We should be neighbors :)
Take care!
Great list! Haven't seen the movie yet (my son and his girlfriend went and loved it) :-}
ReplyDeleteI can hear Billy Mays voice in my sleep sometimes...and its NOT pretty!
ReplyDeleteEver tried Kaboom? It's Ka~okay!
I have never had liver and onions either..it stinks while its cooking...

Hi Becky
ReplyDeleteI love the old painting of the girl with the basket. Haven't seen that movie, but just watched "The Notebook" for the second time with my daughter! Great love story :)
Have a great week,
love
Maria
Oh, if you find the bag of cash, please tell me where so I can find it too. This is the second blog I have been to today talking about grey hair. HaHa. Mine is kind of hidden, but it is white not grey.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture too.
This man makes me cringe. We turn him down everytime he comes on TV. Why does he scream ALL the time? Reminds me of some of the preachers at our church when I was growing up... lol...
ReplyDeleteI too can't take the oxy-clean guy! My five year old friend-daughter can recite the commercial word for word- she keeps telling me we need some mighty putty!
