Weekend Relaxing

Our cat, Socks, seems to like to hang out more these days in the den. She will sit in there and listen to the music on this Playlist and take little naps in the pink chair or just sprawl out on the floor.

Yesterday I went to give her a little mommy time and as soon as I did, into the room came Doogs, our sweet little Scotty. Well, you are forbidden to show any affection without that little guy sticking his nose right in the middle of it! First he came over and had to put his paws up on the edge of the chair - like "notice me, too" and then made himself right at home ON the chair.

After a few discerning "hisses" and a paw-over-the-head "back off dude" warnings from Socks, she figured that it wasn't going to do any good - he was on the chair and that is just how it was going to be. Of course, Doogs means well - no harm whatsoever - just know that I am the alpha animal here and, by golly, you WILL like it, little missy!

I also laugh at Socks when she is sleeping. Come on now, just because you have one paw hiding your eyes doesn't mean that I cannot see you. It is those silly things that our pets do that just make me chuckle out loud and love them even more.

Thanks for sharing "the kids" with us! That's what I call ours. As you know, my mother is from Scotland and we had scotties growing up! Amazing personalities! In my next life I am going to come back as a scottie so I can sit in that lovely chair of yours - without the cat though!
Love, Esther

Becky: I had to post again here, cuz' I didn't see your email. Thanks to you, I have choked several times on my coffee this afternoon! I am inbetween cleaning the house and painting furniture and treated myself to the slideshow of all your flickr photos along with my second cup of coffee. Goodness, woman... how I ADORE your home and stuff... seriously! I love that you mix many styles and colors together. It is like my home in that regard, but way better! Love the patriotic touches... I decorated my guest bathroom in an oldfashioned patriotic style around a beautiful embroidary of George and Martha Washington that my mom did in 1976, the bi-centential year. She did different ones for my brothers and they all have included postage stamps from 76. Will be showing on my blog... you go girl!!!!!! Ya definately one of my favs... XXXXX

Yes, we have an affection hog in our home too! One of our Shih Tzu's is sweet, patient, and lovey. The other is nosey, wiggly and has to be first in line =) Blessings... Polly

Those are precious pictures you captured of Socks and Dhugal. Cats really know how to get down and nap. Scotties know how to look so adorable they can get away with anything. Too cute. You're right~Doogs and Oliver do have very similar faces.

Your kitty and little Scottie are so cute...have you ever read the comic strip "Raising Duncan"? It's a strip about 2 writers that have a kitty who is in love with the Scottie dog, Duncan. My daughter found it for me since we have a kitty with a dog loving gene in her.
